Remarks

Afmc makes you a man rather than just a doctor which is the demand of time. You not only learn medicine but you learn how to live too. Afmc is the not just the college it's way of living.

Entrance Preview

NEET and I scored 528. I wanted to be an all-rounder and wanted to join military services so I chose AFMC, the only best option.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course is good with other activities too. Here students are made all-rounder. Almost every sports faculty are available with the coach. Various competitions do occur. And it provides the best practical work in its own hospital that is southern command hospital.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college is a part of defense services of India. So they send interns to other military hospitals for an internship with a stipend of 60k per month.

College Events

4.5

Silhouettes our annual fest. Illuminati our annual educational fest. Inter-house competitions. Every year in February silhouettes is organized completely by the students so that they can learn about management and fundings. Silhouettes accommodate around 1500 extra students participating from other Indian colleges. It's a 4-day fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very cheap. Feasible. You have to just pay around 70k in the beginning of course. And then it's just the mess bill which has to be paid every month. Mess bill is fixed for a month that is around 1600 which is a convenience fee and can be paid easily.

Fees and Financial Aid

No need for a loan. Insurance is done under defence services. Scholarships are given on the basis of research work and academics.

Campus Life

4.5

Cultural programs are held on every occasion like Diwali, id, Christmas, New year .etc. 5 foreign nationals also take admission every year. Dance, drama, music, debating and hobbies clubs are there in the college. A separate building devoted to extracurricular activities known as aprameya.

Hostel Facilities

5

Spacious hostels Everyone has to compulsorarily live in hostels. In the beginning of the course everyone stays in double seaters. But soon they are shifted in single seaters. Girls and boys hostel are separate. Girls and boys hostels get locked in by 10 pm. Mess food is awesome and nutritional. No extra fees for hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a proper network of alumni in the form of WhatsApp group and Facebook page. It is absolutely helpful as anybody can ask for help from any corner of the world.

Exam Structure

Since being a doctor is not easy. It's a hard day after all because our college asks to participate in other activities too. But on teachers part, it's very chilled because the student can Learn everything from practicals and theory classes held. For internal exams, we have separate examination halls with each hall with the capacity of 250 students.

Admission

I registered for AFMC in March on their website www.afmc.gov.in Then according to the cut offs released I was called for interview and computer based English test at afmc, pune. After I proceeded for medical examination. Then the final list was released of selected students.

Faculty

4.5

Best faculty having scientists of even F-grade. And Army, navy and air force officers who teach us. Almost all are qualified from the reputed colleges and some from afmc only. The faculty is appropriate in quantity and quality. They are permanent and not the one as guests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The current curriculum is comprehensive based curriculum. Here practical knowledge is more important than bookish knowledge. So now spending more time in wards is of greater importance. Exams are held accordingly - 2 internals, 1 prilims and 1 University held by MUHS. Each exam is followed by practical examination. This curriculum will help to build good doctors rather than bookish doctors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is a very secure option to get a job later You get to open your own hospital later on. The curriculum is very practically oriented. you get hands on experience on patients and cadavers. Appropriate skills are taught as well through college programmes. Teaching is by presentation mode which gets quite boring for long hours but it's bearable when combined with afternoon practicals. Exams take place every 6months 2 term exams, 1 prelims , 1 University level exam
