Remarks

The college management is co-operative with the students. The transparency of the management and the interaction with the students allows a better co-ordination amongst the students. But there is still some sort of improvement in the administration process and a better working of the administration with the student parliament body.

Entrance Preview

I joined my college after I qualified IIT JEE Advanced Examination. I scored 224 marks in IIT JEE 2015. I chose this college as it had the best placement statistics in the pass-out batch of 2015 and the institution had some rich history to support its excellent performance.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is well structured to the growing demands of the society in terms of a good engineer of the nation. The core subjects of the department are supported by electives which the candidates can choose on their interests and study the same. The allotment of the electives is done on the basis of the CPI of the student. Each candidate has to take up an elective course each semester. The credits of the course depend on the content of the course and the number of classes intended for the purpose.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides on-campus internships. These internships are mostly paid internships and the stipend varies over the companies. The highest paid internship was offered by Tower Research Capital followed by Hindustan Unilever Limited. The companies vary from software and coding profiles to core engineering. The biggest names in the list of companies coming for the internship were Goldman Sachs, Nvidia, Microsoft, Samsung, Tata, Hindustan Zinc, Pepsico amongst others. The overall experience of the students is somewhat satisfactory. Though not all the students are able to get on campus internship offers, but the students with that calibre are able to cut the edge and bag the opportunity.

Placement Experience

5

The placement scenario at my college is one of the best in the country. It has been the third consecutive year of the highest package offered by any company to an undergraduate in India. The companies include Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Reliance, Samsung, CISCO, TELCO, EXL, Ola, OYO, Avery Dennison, Futures First, Vedanta amongst many others. The maximum package offered was around 1.8 lacs by Microsoft. The average package of the college was around 8 lacs.

College Events

4.5

The major events in my college are Technex (the annual techno-management fest), Spardha (the sports fest) and Kashiyatra (the cultural fest). Apart from this, the departments have their individual fests which witnesses participants from across the nation. The fests have gained wide popularity over past couple of years. The fests have received national and local companies as sponsors.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The recent fee hike in the IITs has made the fee structure a bit on the expensive side. The total fees are divided into two categories, the academic fee and the mess fee. The mess fee is charged around Rs. 12,000 and the academic fee is round about Rs 1,05,000 per semester. The availability of loans by various banks and institutions allow the students to complete their education.

Fees and Financial Aid

The students can avail MCM scholarship if their household income is less than 6lacs and they fall in the top ten per cent students of the branch. Along with, there are several other scholarships from the Alumni of the college and other national level scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The students can enjoy a perfect campus life in the college and they can enjoy playing sports like Cricket, Football and any other sport of their choice. The various clubs span various sectors of science and technology including astronomy, robotics, aeromodelling and sustainable development. The gender ratio is on a downside, but the current reservation of girls in the college seats would definitely enhance the scenario. Different clubs organise their workshops and often organise events giving away prize money with the funds of their respective clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel rooms are given on a twin sharing basis to the students. The college has enough hostels in the campus to accommodate the number of intake per year. The hostels are provided with internet facilities, water coolers and all the necessary requirements for a student life. Every hostel has table tennis hall, badminton courts along with mess and canteen facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The vast alumni network of the college is really supportive of the currently studying students. They support the students through regular interaction sessions, funding of scholarships through personal ends.

Exam Structure

Each semester is evaluated by a mid-semester examination and an end semester examination. Each subject has some allotted marks for class attendance, assignments and class response. The weight of these depends on the concerned convener of the subject. The subjects with lab classes as well have some marks allotted to the lab work and experiments. The journals of the lab are evaluated for the assessment of the students.

Admission

After qualifying IIT JEE, there was the joint seat allocation by JOSAA on the basis of All India Ranks. The candidates had to fill in their preference of college, course and the degree they wanted to pursue in the institute. The seat allocation was a three-round process where one can float, freeze or slide their allotted seat. Floating means the candidate may be allotted a seat in any choice which is listed above the seat which he has been allotted in this round. Freeze option means that the candidate does not want to be considered for any further round of placement and he accepts the seat. Sliding option means that the candidate can be allotted a seat in the same college if there are available seats in the further round of allocations. Candidates were to report to their convenient IIT out of Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, and Guwahati with the necessary documents. After the verification was done, they were eligible to report at their respective colleges and from there on the procedure varied from college to college. In my case, I had to do online profile registration from the link on the website and then report with all the necessary documents.

Faculty

4.5

Being one of the prominent institutions of the nation and serving the nation since so long, the faculty team is a blend of the experience of senior professors, the enthusiasm of young professors joining each year and the ability of the students to learn the most out of them. Each of the faculty members has a minimum qualification of Ph.D. to be able to take the classes. The faculty members are allotted relevant subjects from their area of research and interest and hence, they have the perfect command over what they teach.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and keep up with the evolving trends of industry. It balance Theoretical and knowledge and practical application, helping students build a strong foundation in core subjects like programming mathematics and engineering fundamentals. The curriculum Includ Laboratory session Projects and tutorials that enhance understanding beyond the textbooks It also allows students to choose elective in later semester which adds flexibility and depth to learn. In terms of revevance, most subjects are designed to align with current industry requirements especially in field like computer science and electronics the inclusion of emerging technologies such as ai data science and web development makes it quite comprehensive. However a few areas could be improved such as integrating more industry based project and updating some older Syllabus to match modern tools and frameworks. Overall the curriculum is relevant ,comprehensive and career-oriented providing a solid base for both higher studies and professional development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This criteria for choosing the college was because of placements. The curriculum Is outdated and not as per the industry requirements. In 1st year we are taught only one language and which is of no use.... That is C. But in other universities, students are taught languages like java, C++, python in their 1st year. Teachers are good. I have no issues with them but I have issues with its curriculum. Exam are taken so much which are according to me good as they prepare as for university exams but as I consider placement point of view so students do not have enough time to prepare for their placements, learning new skills as we are supposed to study for exams otherwise we will have to attend extra exams and classes and will lose internal marks. So having many exams have both benefits and drawbacks.
