Course Curriculum Overview

4

Before answering this question let me tell one basic thing why people do MBA or PGDM courses like professional career course. A major section of people pursue an MBA or PGDM because of getting a job. Straight and simple. Now whether MDIM's course curriculum is apt for placement and industry standard or not. Answer is YES. Here it is more practical than theory-based learning. The entire course of each term is distributed so well that at the end of term 3 you will ready for your internship journey. Activity-based learning and practical approach are the best thing in the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness.

Internships Opportunities

5

We had companies for various sectors and industries for our internship starting from Tata AIG, Droom, Tech Mahindra, and Middle Earth to companies like Tata Steel, ICICI bank, etc. The highest Stipend is 40K per month. Every company has its very own project some are like market research whereas some come for finance projects. Depends on the company to company.

Placement Experience

4.5

MDIM's one of the most important committees is PLACECOM i.e. placement committee of MDIM. They worked a corporate time cycle just to get the batch placed. So from day 1, they will make you know the norms and guidelines about the placement. After some days they will start floating companies nomination forms in the college's mail ID. They will happen till the batch achieves 100% placement. Every year there are some prominent recruiters come to MDIM like ICICI Bank, Dabur, Bandhan Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Tata AIG, etc. No Ed-tech startup or company form is floated this is the type of a rule here. The highest package offered this year 40LPA and the Average package is around 11 LPA. After getting the degree I like to serve for a well-reputed company and help me in my career growth.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is an emerging bschool MDIM's tuition fees increases for each batch and it's for a reason also. The reason is placement, in MDIM, there is a record of 100% placement for each batch whether it was in the time of corona or normal. For batch 2024-26 they revised their fees. Tuition fees 584710/ year, Lodging 67410/year, Boarding charges 59900/year, study material fee 27820(1st year), 28000(2nd year), Student welfare 10000/year, library fees 11770/year, Alumni fees 5000 ( one time), Medical Insurance 1500 (1st), 1600(2nd), Security deposit 20000(onetime). Total 1551500. Special scholarship and freeship scheme for the north east students to pursue PGDM course approved by AICTE at MDIM.

Campus Life

5

This is my first residential course I am availing. So I was bit nervous in the begining. But it is really awesome. This alchohol & tobacco free campus has great people from different part of India. Whether it is 3 am or 4pm, this campus is always full of life. Angeethi, the cafe is the best place to sit, sing, jam and do gossip. Swimming pool are the best place to get relaxed. It has seperate slots for boys and girls. MDIM has vollyball ground, badminton ground, football, cricket ground, Table tennis table, Pool table, Carrom Board. MDIM had SAMVAAD, CAMXOTICA, FRESHERS and many more annual festivals from different clubs and committes. MDIM's library is gem. It has journals of Harvard Business School. All the case we study in the classroom it mainly from HBR cases. All the classes has two projectors where teachers used to present their material. MDIM has two computer lab having the facility of NVIVO software , SPSS software. It has 4 Bloomberg terminals.

Hostel Facilities

5

In a room we get one wardrobe, one single bed, one book rack, and one study table along with a chair. The room has an attached balcony. Meal is mainly made by Jana Enterprise Limited. Meal is good. We have hostel and mess committee to take care about our meals. Registration process is seemless. Room is already alloted as per registation number. This is a residential college so there is no facility of rented PG or room like that. For parent we have guest rooms and hotels outside the campus.

Admission

The admission process was very smooth. MDI only considers CAT percentile so as per my percentile i.e. 79.45% I got a call from MDIM. My interview was scheduled accordingly. In the interview, they mainly asked about myself, and my interest area ( for me i.e stock market and finance) and they tried to know how much knowledge I had in the same domain then another panelist asked some psychological questions ( like what do you mean by depression, what is anxiety etc.) and some basic questions about my family. Then they added me in the Admission Committee's WhatsApp group. In some days I got a congratulations mail from MDIM along with the joining date. The process was very apt and seamless. In my case, it was online (Zoom) as it was in the time of Corona but I would prefer if the college could take interviews physically to get the nerve of the legacy holders and students also can experience what life is like here at MDIM.

Interview Experience

5

My interview Questions are like introduction, area of interest, hobbies and project work. I mainly prepare from CATKING and IAS interview videos from Youtube. I was well informed about current events and business trends. I had indepth knowledge in my interest area and I prepared my CV properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course only because of our HOD, but after completing my course, he left the course. He has helped us with all the things like web development and seo skills. By doing it practically for every student, he offers a domain for every student. I had difficulty with Google Ads & meta ads because it was taught by another faculty. The exam times were different by 3 months.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good and after the 4th-trimester students will be eligible for sitting in the final placements and after the 1st-trimester students will be eligible for the summer internship. Gartner, Big 4 and Grant Thornton like companies that hire in bulk with good packages but Gartner don't hire in bulk and it offers the PPO also after the SIP with around 17lacs, as of now I am not informed of the highest package because I still placements are going on so don't know right now. 97% of students get the placements from the college

It is one of the renowned institutes in Kolkata. But after admission got the clear msg. It is renowned for its engineering degree only not for PGDM or MBA. They even dont have proper faculties to teach students. I majored in Business Analytics, but back to then in 2019 there was not even one teacher who have subject knowledge.

College course structure is good but as faculty are not good implementation is bad. Need company visit and better placement. More focuses on MBA rather than the additional courses. Apart from this, it's a good college.

The good things I like is that the teachers teach through the slides prepared by himself and also told student to prepare PowerPoint presentation and deliver in the class and also give different case study to solve the problem. Only missing thing is that the student are getting less practical knowledge as compare to theory paper.

The good thing about this college are the activities that take place every Saturday, which is quite interesting and knowledgeable. The bad thing about the college is that the departments are divided on the basis of their courses so the students do not gather as a whole bunch of college.
