Remarks

College is good, faculties and facilities must improve. Give more prominence to practical knowledge so that students excel at work in their fields. Must improve in placement opportunities because outside searching for a job all alone without reference is difficult.

Entrance Preview

I took CET exam, where I scored 37,995th rank to get into this college just because the college was near to my house and that was the only good college which was matching my CET rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course here I will be talking related to mechanical, as everyone says mechanical is evergreen and comparatively easy, indeed it is. They have classified and have made a proper syllabus which is allotted in each semester. Not much interest is given to research and other things but surely for the course and subjects.

Internships Opportunities

No, college does not provide any internships. But yes if u have any good lecturers in contact you can grab some opportunities. I have never heard of stipends earned through internships but for sure you will gain some practical knowledge.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are a serious problem at sambhram. For CS and IS it is not that difficult to get into some company because they refer students for many drives which are conducted inside and outside the college. But for mechanical and civil better have contacts.

College Events

4

Many events take place. U will rejoice it when u are out of campus after completion. One is Ganesh Chaturthi celebration done grandly by mechanical department. And next comes the college fest VIBEZ conducted in April or may by Mech, civil and EC departments. It will be a 2-day party and it is good to have fun and make some memories. Other than this Holi and ethnic wear day is celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and not that expensive when compared to other engineering colleges in Bangalore. If a person is joined through CET it was Rs 54000 per year. But if a person is joined through management then it 1lakh per year. Now they may have revised it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are given to toppers in CET rank. Very less fee of Rs3000 was collected if the student had rank below 5k in CET. There is a caste-based scholarship by the government. Loan facility I don't have much idea about it, but the management seat amount can be paid in installments.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is good, but the campus area is too smile and they are very strict inside the campus. The gender ratio is almost equal. Extracurricular activities will be conducted as per directions from respective HOD. sports will also be conducted once in a year, but the major importance is given to cricket, volleyball, and kabaddi. Robotics come into play when its projects exhibition time by the final year students. Everything seems good from outside, but when u live it u will know the exact feeling.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni network as such yet, but they had plans of setting it up and have meetings every year so that juniors would get some opportunities for internships or employment referrals from seniors of their college.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is similar to any other VTU affiliated college in Bangalore. They have three internals in three consecutive months. After that lab externals will take place and then final exams are given importance as scheduled by VTU.

Admission

Admission is simple, as per rank cet cell calls for candidates for background verification and then students used to go for online admission where in we have to choose relevant colleges for our rank im priority wise. I had given sambhram as my top prioirity and yeah i got there in the first round for mechanical. I opted it coz that was the only college which suited my rank and it was near. Getting admissioned is easy, we should take the admission order provided by CET cell and go make the payment.

Faculty

3

The faculty consists of both senior most lecturers and professors and also who start their teaching career in the same college. They are very cooperative and understand students mindset and help u in all the aspects which u go through 4 years in Engineering.

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement on final year, they have to maintain their grad points in every semister about 8 for a good package. Even some times grade points level down in front of skills and other courses made externally, so skill development is most important. Some of the companies like Wipro, L and T, Isro, Tech mahindra, Skanray, Keynes and so on were their on campus. But our many faculties help every student who is need of a job, with every possible off campus placements. Placment department are trying their best for all skilled, top rank and low rank students for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .
