Amity University Mumbai, BBA, Business Management

Remarks

The college is good for BBA but for MBA, it is not the best college in town. The college management is okay but the student-teacher ratio is high. Approx 500 students share around 20 teachers.

Entrance Preview

I took Amity's private test which they conduct for graduate-level admissions. For MBA, all exams scores are accepted and they also take their own exam which checks aptitude of applicants.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is comprehensive and good. It's better than the curriculum offered by Mumbai University. The students need to learn communication skills, behavioral skills and also learn a foreign language as a part of the curriculum. Though curriculum is not regularly updated. Yet the course is great.

Internships Opportunities

It provides internship bit, not for everyone, students need to find on their own. Some students weren't paid and some receive as much as 20000 per month.

Placement Experience

3.5

Graduates aren't offered placement aid, though some offers keep coming not much effort is made. Postgraduates get good placements. The placements are nor very great. MBA get on average 4 to 6 lac CTC package. Recruiters include Nomura, Amazon, KPMG and many more.

College Events

4.5

We have several competitions, like freshers, farewell, garba night, diwali celebration, college fest, sports day and many normal competition like debate, paper presentation and business plan presentation. We also have certain college programs or guest session. The college also offers certain courses which can be persued over a weekend. Like CIMA and digital marketing and financial modeling.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is on the expensive side, but the crowd at the college is such that they can afford the fees. It is something like 5 lac for 3 years. The fees is paid every semester which is around 80k to 90 k depending on the semester. The fees is only paid by cheque or DD. Late fees has penalty charge which ranges from Rs.150 to Rs. 15000

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I have no knowledge of any such facility but the campus visit could help clarify on thsee facilities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The average rental for PG is approx 8k to 15k The food is good. They serve chips, idli and other breakfast items. Also serve beverages and many lunch items. The hygiene is average. Not as good as canteens of mitibai or NM but it's decent. We also have plenty of foods joints around and also, Two of the city's best malls in close proximity.

Alumni/Alumna

The students are good, they are helpful. Always provide their notes, share past papers and also interact nicely.

Exam Structure

There are 6 term exams happening every month for BBA and 4 term exams for MBA. The exam were not hectic and the time tabe was suitable. The exams are easy, question are more subjective and simple. Each paper has 3 sections: A- simple qns - options given to pick. B - Long qns - option given to pick. C - Case study - compulsary

Admission

I gave a test where I had to write an essay, then I had an interview with the director and then, I purchased the application of the college which costs Rs 500 and paid the fees of the first term along with a refundable security deposit of 15k. The admissions staff Mr. Amit and Ms.Pepetual arr very friendly and helpful.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is very experienced and teach at some of the premier colleges in India as well. The faculty knows what they teach. Some teachers may well read the slides but then, most teachers are professionals who do not know how to teach, so, they need to be directed to finish the syllabus.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students are eligible for placements. Most students opt for higher studies or other options. The placement cell is very helpful and patient. Most of the students who apply get placed. We also have summer internships and internships with NGOs which is a very good thing. The experience is amazing! Most students get placed in the consulting and marketing sector. Many well known companies vist campus all around the year. I plan on doing my masters in sports management. Before that I will be sitting for placements I plan on working for 1-2 years
