Remarks

The college campus and atmosphere is very good but in practical knowledge, they're not giving their effort.

Entrance Preview

I gave JEE mains and from Gujarat board (ACPC) only, I've taken the admission in Nirma University. It is a bit costly than the other universities but the atmosphere and students are great so I've chosen this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course structure is very good. All the topics and subjects related to particular branch is covered in the syllabus and also in the teaching. The college has also included elective subjects so that all the students need not to study all the subject. In addition to that the students can study the subjects that they like and further they can do their masters.

Internships Opportunities

In campus internships are not offered. But the college provides internships at different well known companies. The stipend is not provided and the experience is not quite good. The students has to observe only and have to analyze all the things at their own. Some companies do provide good internship and stipend but the number of these companies are very less.

Placement Experience

3.5

In the end of seven semester, the companies arrive to provide jobs and for placements. Job opportunities are quite good but it is seen from this year that the placement percentage has decreased. Overall packages are good. This year almost 50% placement is done from the college itself and companies like Maruti-Suzuki, Tata Nano, L&T, Bombardier comes for the placements. The details of packages is not known to all.

College Events

3.5

Different events organized by different clubs is celebrated. Total 12-15 events are celebrated during a year. Sports and cultural both events are celebrated. Technical Fest is having national level. Technical Fest is celebrated as NUTech. Well known festivals like IFest, Horizon, Praveg are celebrated. Praveg'16 and 17 was organized by Mechanical Engineering Students'Association, was a big success. It was a great achievement. Seven to eight thousand participants had participated in different events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is quite high as compared to other colleges. The fee of 2019 batch is Rs.1,41,000. The fees for bus transport is 8-10 thousand rupees per semester. The students which are not having a residence, they have to stay in hostels outside the campus because the university is not having hostel facility for undergraduates. The expenditures of hostel and other things is almost 1.5 lacs. So the total expenditures of one year for a student living in hostel is 3 lac or above.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college is providing 2 types of scholarships. Merit only and merit cum means. In which the students are offered 50000, 90000 and 100000 Rupees of scholarships according to their ranks in the institute.

Campus Life

3.5

The second best thing which the college gave to us, is friends. Also the college life is good but only tedious part is attendance which 85%. Because of this, the students are not able to enjoy full of the college life. Gender ratio is about 60(B):40(G). But in mechanical Branch, it is 100:0. Extracurricular activities are to be done by the students only. The lab facilities are good but students are not allowed to do practicals under observation. Sports and other competitions are organized by the institute and participation is also good. Most of the students are from upper middle class or upper class. No discrimination is happening on gender, race, status.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are not provided to Undergraduates. Hostel facilities is only for Post Graduates. As UG students have to stay in different hostels and PGs, so I can provide the details for that only. SGVP gurukul is good for staying and hygienic food. It is clean and comfortable.

Alumni/Alumna

The bond between seniors and juniors is one of the good qualities of Institute. They're helpful from the very first day of the college. Yes there is an alumni network and the college is planning get-together for them in certain period.

Exam Structure

Continuous Evaluation scheme is carried out for the evaluation.Total 5 exams are taken. Class Test, Mid-Sem, Innovative Assignment, LPW and End-Sem. Class Test is of 30 marks. Mid sem is of 40 marks. Innovative Assignment is of 30 marks. LPW is having Lab, Practical and Workshops which is having 20 marks weightage. The End-Sem is having 100 marks. Continuous Evaluation scheme includes Class Test, Mid-Sem, Innovative Assignment. Total 100 marks is converted into 40 marks. 40 marks of Continuous Evaluation, 20 marks of LPW (if having) and 40 marks of End sem which makes total 100 marks. The exam rating is dependent on the preparation only.

Admission

For admission, Gujarat Education Board has a commission called ACPC which acts as a mediator in admission processes for different degrees. I also registered in ACPC and filled up the choices of colleges in which I wanted to take the admission. And in the second round itself I got the admission in Nirma University.

Faculty

4

Faculties of Mechanical Department are very good in their courses as well as the behavior. Most of them are well educated and having Ph.Ds from different well known colleges. The process for in taking the faculties is also having standards. The faculties are thoroughly examined by assessment of their teaching techniques.

Placement Experience:

Placements at the college are moderate, with students becoming eligible from the 6th or 7th semester. A few IT and core companies visit, offering roles like developer and trainee engineer. The highest package is around 6–8 LPA, while the average is 2–4 LPA. Around 50–60% of students get placed, while others pursue higher studies or off-campus jobs. My plan after completing the degree is to improve my skills and aim for better opportunities or pursue higher education.
