Your usual day at IMT

After graduating with a BBA (Finance) degree, an MBA in Finance was part of my plan. IMT's rich curriculum provides students with a holisitic learning experience. The faculty members are experts in their respective domains and are extremely approachable, one can always schedule a meeting with the faculty if required so after class hours. The teaching sessions are extremely interactive, incentivising the students with class participation marks. All faculty members are proven researchers winning accolades and getting research papers published in the finest of article pages. There is a common saying that, "IMT never sleeps", the terms go by in a whisker and the students are graded on a relative basis on a grade point basis.

The college boasts a 100% placement percentage for it's eligible students. Students are eligible for their final placements from their 5th term at IMT. There is a mandatory undertaking to be signed for placement eligibility which stresses on the aspect of confidentiality, so please refer to the college website for any placement related details.

I am currently in my first year of my course at IMT, the institute provides merit based scholarships to candidates. The cost to study is at par with some of the top institutes in the country. In addition to scholarships at the time of application, IMT also provides students with a scholarships after joining the institute who display all round academic excellence.

The saying 'IMT never sleeps' is accurate indeed. It is a student run campus with approximately 25+ clubs and committees. The standout fests are - Chakravuyh: the sports fest and Passion: the cultural fest. Fests are great opportunities to enjoy campus life and network with students from other B-Schools. The campus provides it's students with all facilities, which range right fom premium subsciptions like the Bloomberg and Coursera subsciptions in thr library to gyms, grounds and courts for sports. You name the sport and we have the facility rightaway

The course fee includes hostel accomodation. The rooms are fairly spacious with single beds, tables and cupboards for each student. The hostels and room mates are allocated on a random draw basis. The college provides 4 meals a day right from breakfast to dinner. The meals are fairly decent, ofcourse there are some days when the mess menu won't seem appealing but you can always rely on the college canteen for some quick bites.

The admission process was very smooth. The college accepts relevant CAT, XAT and GMAT scores. I secured my shortlist after submitting my CAT score. Post filling up the online form available on the college website, during the month of January and submitting the required fees which was approxiimately around Rs. 2500, I receieved my shortlist for a written aptitude test. The topic was given on the spot and the duration of the written test was 30 minutes, which was to be completed in one sitting. After clearing the test, I received an online meeting link for a personal interview which lasted for 20 minutes. Normally, the institute conducts the interview and the written test at a designated centre, however the Covid-19 pandemic shifted the entire process online. All in all, it was a very smooth experience!

As mentioned, there was a written test and the topic was about the use of artificial intelligence in business. We did not have a group discussion round, shortlisted students after the test received interview calls straightaway. The interview was mostly about the candidate profile, interests, hobbies and on why MBA and why IMT, be careful about mentioning your areas of interest as the interviews might put your own words to test too. I prepared for the written test and the interview on my own, without any formal assistance.
