Course Curriculum Overview
1. My reason for selecting NMIMS Mumbai is its legacy and a great brand name. Other than that the placement reports are attractive. Lastly, the location, Mumbai, which is the financial capital of India (my inteded specialisation is finance) 2. Faculty to Student ratio is 1:10 which is not that great but as a student I haven't been bothered by it because of the efective staff management. 3. Most of the faculty are Phd holders and have relevant experiences in teaching and in the business world. Teaching styles are also on point (except a few exceptions here and there) 4. Passing the exams is not that difficult but scoring in them is a task because of the relative marking.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies on board (around 150) offering roles from every domain be it marketing, finance, ops or product/project markering. Some roles offered are - summer analysts, data analysts, Investment banker, product manager, markert reasearcher etc.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is an 8/10. The placement cell is able to take plenty of companies on board but the student intake is very high which creates a situation of high competitiveness for good companies on campus. First year students are eligible for Summer internship in trimester 2 (around September) and Second year students are eligible for Final Placements in October-November. Around 90-95% students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is Rs. 24 lakhs for its Flagship MBA and MBA-HR which is paid annually (lumpsum Rs. 12 lakhs each year) Return on investment is not great as compared to other B-School taking into account that no hostel facility is provided by the college and also considering that Mumbai (especially Juhu) is an expensive city to live. There was only one scholarship (merit based) offered by the college which is of Rs. 2Lakhs which is automatically offered to the first 50 students (ranking wise) who took admission in the college. Average summer internship stipend is 2lakhs for 2 months as per the placement reports of 2023.
Campus Life
There are enough cultural and sports club to cover most of the hoobies and interest a student might be interesrted in. For eg. Mantavaya - Reading club Expose - Photography Club Nepathaya - Dancing club Other than that there are academic clubs: Finomenon - finance club Optimuz - ops club NotJustMarketing - marketing club Classrooms are spacious with centerally air conditioned and each classroom has a smart screen with 2 manual boards on each side. Classrooms are clean and well maintained. The campus is small with just one building so in case of any sports activity a nearby open space is hired (the rent is paid by students). There are 2 auditoriums for any events.
