Course Curriculum Overview
I always liked journalism and I always had a spirit for arts that's why I chose this course. The faculty members were highly educated and the classes were evening classes so it was easy for me to handle home chores and also pursue my education. The study material was given by the faculty themselves. The exams weren't that difficult to me but the field is competitive and everyone studies really hard.
Internships Opportunities
Like I mentioned earlier, I got a chance to work with Jagaar news agency who paid me 10000/- per month. I started out as an intern and received stiphend of 4000/- in the beginning. I was in charge of finding news stories and writing into my own words.
Placement Experience
The placement eligibility start right from the last year, before the final exams. Many companies visited during that time like Jagaad marathi news agency, Aaj tak, times of India and much more. Visit the website to know more about it. I think about 40%-60% of students get placements. I am now planning to pursue higher education from the same university.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees never really hiked during my time but now the policies must have changed. I recommend going through the official website of the college to find out more about it. The college also provided scholarships and internships. I got to work with a news agency called Jaagar. The money I earned was 10000 per month, which was a huge amount back in days.
Campus Life
The college had many organized evetns and fests that really engaged the students into extra curricular activities. The library was always up to maximum capacity because the books were always available and everyone were really diligent. The faculty members made the curriculum so interesting that we all wanted to really pass the exam. The classroom were basic, back-to-school, kind of spaces but also like Munna bhai MBBS kind of set up. I personally never really opted for sports but the college does provide events related to sports.
Admission
I needed to have a 12th completion certificate in order to be eligible for the above course. The application form is available online as this is an open university and you can also get the form by going to the institute personally. The admission process has changed a lot by now as it has become more digital and easy.
