Remarks
The staff in KIIT are simple and friendly. The infrastructure here is really cool. KIIT is like a mini country all together, with every range and variety of people. It is a very great experience studying in KIIT. Amidst the journey we may have complains because humans are greedy, but in the end, we find every penny spent worth it.
Entrance Preview
I studied class 11 and 12 at KIIT International School. The two years there built a sort of trust in me and my family regarding the whole KIIT family. So, without a second thought, I appeared the KIIT entrance examination, known as KIITEE in short. I couldn't secure any extraordinary rank, although I got a second chance in the second round of counselling. I have had always loved computer subjects. In my ICSE board too, I scored maximum in Computer Applications. So, undoubtedly I chose IT. I wish they could spare some seats for computer science, but after 4 years, I don't regret choosing IT.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course that I chose is Information Technology (IT), and I have never regretted for choosing it. Along with teaching the basics, KIIT also follows the trends. As of now, Data analytics, Cloud computing, Real time systems, etc. are new subjects added in our curriculum so that we advance our knowledge even more. The guidance of teachers in every semester is excellent. Most of the teachers are highly interactive in class. Many challenging problems are showered on we students to solve them in our practical sessions. In the last 2 semesters, students prepare projects based on there core subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college made a good effort for students to get internship chances. KIIT E-cell is a major group in KIIT formed by the students of KIIT with direct association of KIIT University, which organises a camp called Internship Camp, in which startups come for recruitment with Internship opportunities, mostly paid ones.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario of KIIT University has been consistently good. Even this time, by now 85% of our students are placed. Deloitte took a good number of students which was around 140 students. Accenture hit 545 students and Infosys and Wipro collectively 250 students. Many other companies like SAP labs, Robert Bosch, TekSystems, Microsoft, Dell, ZS associates, etc had visited this year. In year 2015 and 2016, the 100% placement mark had been achieved. Many sophisticated companies showed their presence this year in KIIT taking a handful of students for their company.
College Events
KIIT Fest is the biggest fest that our university conducts. There are other fests which are conducted all through the year like KIMS fest, KIFT fest, Kritarth, Tech fests, workshops, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
To be very honest, it is a bit above average. Staying in hostel is costly as well as being a day boarder. I stay in queen's castle 4 with AC 3-tier bedroom, and the food here is pretty awesome. My per semester fee is ₹1,56,000 (including mess and hostel). For day boarders, bus service is provided. Day boarders pay ₹1,10,000 per semester. There has been a fee hype in a couple of years. Perks of paying so much is, it will make you feel worth it in the end. Each penny is worth it. I don't think I will find any better hostel but KIIT. Wi-Fi service is all time provided. It is affordable by average-above average and it is totally worth it.
Campus Life
Yes, ample opportunities. There are many societies in here at KIIT. I was also a part of a renowned dance group in KIIT. There is scope for dancing, singing, debating, entrepreneurship, marketing, etc. Social working groups are also there in KIIT.
Hostel Facilities
Something really remarkable about KIIT is its hostels. All the money invested will be found worth the price mostly by the hostel residents. Talking about B.Tech, we have 4 hostels - Queen's Castle 1,2,3 and 4. Many of these hostels have one or two floors of only AC rooms of 2 or 3-tiers. AC rooms are provided with the AC line round the clock. The hostel rooms and bathrooms are kept clean by the sweepers and workers. There are wardens for each floor, who are very regular and keeping check of the attendance of the floor residents. They take utmost care of 1st year students as they are new to the place and they have restricted in times and allowances for outing. Generally the in time is 7 pm for girls. The food catering is really nice. I don't think any hostel will be providing students with such tasty and nutritious food. We are provided with plenty amount of chicken per week (precisely 3 times a week), green vegetables, fish twice a week. The hostel gives special food on occasions like Shivratri, Diwali, Janmashtami, etc. Alcohol and smoking is strictly not allowed inside the hostel gate, or rather inside the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, there are many alumni who represent our university in the companies they work in and request them to visit KIIT for recruitment.
Exam Structure
Everyone feels a bit tired when there are so many exams. In the first two years, it was a bit hectic. The gap between mid-terms and end semesters sometime felt short. But then we adjusted and gradually got used to it. And since then we could chill out and face every exam every assignment and every extra classes that were thrown at us.
Faculty
The standard of teaching in KIIT is really good. Most teachers are interactive. Many are highly qualified, with some who have done their post-graduation in some of the greatest colleges in India, like IIT KGP. Teachers here mostly believe in clearing the basics. Assignments are frequently given by teachers to students. Teachers here are also helpful when we need any technical help. They help in our projects and assignments. Before exams, faculty members are always present in the building and ready for doubt clearing.
