Remarks

If u need to actually enjoy a life outside textbooks too, then Stanley is ur destination ! Also don't miss out the fun at birthday celebrations, hostel day and batch trips - they will remain etched in ur memories forever. Proud to be s Stanlean !!

Entrance Preview

Got admission through my TNHSC scores. Got 98.2% in my board exams and a cutoff of 199. My focus from school days was only on medicine and I successfully made to a medical college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Initially I was a bit sceptical on preferring Stanley rather than Coimbatore MC ( which was my hometown ) but I m sure now that I have made the right choice. With the curriculum vastly spread, all the departments make sure that a clear basic inputs on all subjects are being provided. Practicals are being given equal importance to that of theory in non clinical subjects and it is in the clinical postings where one can actually learn a lot of stuff . And Research papers are being presented by students right from first yr with my peers presenting papers and symposiums in events outside Tamilnadu. And Stanley famously is abode to champion sports teams ( Hockey, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Table tennis to name a few ) and Dance teams ( Lakshya , Stanbootz )

Internships Opportunities

Yep there is a compulsory internship for a period of 12 months with postings in PHC along with departments in hospitals ( medicine, surgery , O&G , Paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, psychiatry, emergency medicine along with some voluntary postings )

Placement Experience

4

Basically there is nothing like placements in Medical colleges. Any graduate can easily get a government / private job or can set up his / her own clinic though most prefer to complete their postgraduation and then look for jobs

College Events

4.5

Some major events are being organised by elected Students Council every year EMPOWER - International Medical Research Congress with about 2000 delegates attending every year STANLEA - InterCollege Sports event with teams from different medical colleges in TN and Pondy taking part EUPHORIA - Annual Cultural Extravaganza With medical colleges from TN ,Pondy and other colleges in and around TN taking part EXTRICO - Intracollege Quiz organised by second year students to first year .

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it is a government college , fees are absolutely affordable ( 10000-13000/yr ) with hostel mess fee ranging between 3500-5000/month. One needs to shell some bucks for textbooks though because u need them for ur entrance preps and in ur future courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

With affordable fee structure there is no need of applying for loan. There are many scholarships for those from low economic strata - FFE scholarship ( around 40000/yr ) Agaram scholarship , Fist graduate scholarship , scholarships for BC, MBC , ST , SC students which can be applied through college.

Campus Life

3.5

Stanley is a den of opportunities as I had said before. One can find ample time to explore his/her talent. Be it music band, dance troop or sports team one can learn a lot from them . There is a Fine Arts Club for extracurricular activities and good sports ground with volleyball courts and practice nets .

Hostel Facilities

4

There are different hostel blocks for different batches with shared rooms for first , second , prefinal years and single rooms for final yr , crri and post graduates.

Exam Structure

Though we have university exams only once a year ( for 2 nd yr it is actually once for 1 and half year ) , there are quite a lot of internal assessments scheduled ( At least 7 in each subject ) along with viva and model practicals . And preparing for exams are quite a hectic job indeed with frequency late night workouts .

Faculty

4

We have one of those energetic , dedicated , student friendly batch of professors who make every efforts in making the course look easy. They give more focus on practical classes and clinical postings rather than theory. And the postgraduates will there for all personal helps and clarifications.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.
