Likes

The faculty are regular and disciplined regarding course structure and classes. Regular classes are held with a pre defined time table and labs are organized for physical demonstration and experiment thereby promoting practical oriented learning
Clubs and Teams are quite active giving an exposure for overall development of students
Campus placement is commendable as companies like Microsoft and Google also offers students

Dislikes

Campus Safety is a major concern as there are no concrete boundaries around
Mess food is an issue as the quality and quantity both are not as mych as it needs to be
For girls, there are in time restrictions in the hostel owing to which they are facing academic disadvantage

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical is a stream that involves physics and its in depth understanding. This motivated me to opt for this course. There are a total of 480 students in mechanical engineering include all 4 year. Each batch has a strength of approximately 115 students and 45 faculty in the department. There is a semester system with a mid sem and an end sem exam.

Internships Opportunities

When the 5th semester begins, companies start visiting the college for summer internship offers which the students would be doing between the 6th and 7th semester in their summer break. Apart from these a 6 month intern in offered in the 8th semester also.

Placement Experience

Companies start visiting the campus to provide a 2 month summer internship opportunity, 5th semester onwards. Final campus placement begins from 7th semester. Our branch has a record of 100 percent placement among all eligible students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee each semester is 70000 . Apart from these the mess and hostel fee per semester is 32000. Students with weak financial background gets a remission in fees depending upon their parents income.

Campus Life

There are several cultural as well as technical clubs in which students are inducted based on their interest. Sports, Cultural as well as Technical fest is held every year in the month of November, February and April respectively with a wide range of events.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility includes a triple shared room for girls and a single seater for boys. Mess facility includes 4 meals a day and a pre decided menu. Non Veg food is served separately for the convenience of all.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

Our college takes admission on the basis of rank obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains, which is held twice every year for students in 12th grade with PCM as their stream. JoSAA is responsible for organizing counselling. There is a 20 percent reservation for female candidates apart from the regular Sc/ St / Obc / Ews benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
