Remarks

Too strict rules for students but maybe that's good in a way. The students are living far away from their homes and it's the responsibility of the college to look after the students so maybe in a way having too strict rules are good for students. There is a happy atmosphere inside the campus and all the students are friendly among each other.

Entrance Preview

I gave VITEEE to get admission in this college. Your rank has to be below 1 lakh to crack the entrance and be eligible to take admission here. My rank was above average so I got to choose my desired course (EEE) as well. The college does not conduct any interview for taking in admissions as it is purely merit-based and so, one needs to clear only entrance exam. VIT is a well-reputed university and studying here is a privilege for me. I chose this course because I always had an inclination towards electronics and I know that the world is moving digital so I should be well equipped with electronics, considering my future prospects.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is a bit tough. Almost all the courses have lab components so we get sufficient practical exposure. Various events are held on a monthly basis to motivate students to research on the fields that they are interested in. Elective options have not been provided till now. But they may be provided in future semesters.

Internships Opportunities

No we are not provided with any internship opportunities. We have to slog hard for finding an internship. It depends on a student if they want to pursue an internship or not. I took help from few of my professors as they guided me through the whole internship process. Otherwise, students have to do this on their own. Internships are purely based on an individual's skills and talents.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement is 100% but many of the students are placed in the mass recruiting companies.Core placements are a bit less. Out of 100 students sitting for placement from a branch, almost 45-50 gets placed in core companies rest all are recruited by the mass recruiters. Some students also go for off-campus placements.

College Events

3

Every year there are two fest held in the college. 1st being the technical fest(TechnoVIT), all the workshops and seminars are held during this fest. It is generally organized in the month of September. 2nd being the cultural fest, Vibrance is held during the month of February or March. Many nearby colleges like VIT Vellore and Satyabama University attend the fest. The fests are really great. The college teachers and students help in organizing the events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course is quite affordable. Though some of the students who cannot afford the fee take student loans or try for availing scholarships. The course fee during my time for 1st category was 1.65 lacs p.a. About 2.2 lacs p.a. for category 2. 2.8 lacs for category 3. And 3.4 lacs for category 4. We got the category according to the number of seats in the course and the rank we got in VITEEE.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, scholarships are provided to the students who either score 1st rank in their branch or if they maintain 100% attendance for a year. Or if they have scored a decent rank(under 10k) in VITEEE (condition: they have to maintain at least 8 GPA).

Campus Life

4.5

The college really motivates the students to take part in extracurricular activities. We are even provided with 2 credits if we do exceptionally well in a sport. To explore our inner talent a talent hunt event is organized for the first year students every Friday for 2 months. Many other activities are also organized by the management team of our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

I am residing in hostel. There are 2 bed room, 3 bed rooms, 4 bed rooms and 6 bed rooms both AC and Non AC. We get the preference to choose our roommates and room according to our rank in the college. The mess food is also quite good. The cost of mess is near about 60k p.a. The cost of a non AC room ranges from 70k to 90k depending upon the number of beds in the room. Add 25k for AC room to the respective room charges.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni do visit our college to help the prefinal year and final year students. Alumni interaction helps us to understand what the industries want from us. What are the fields that we should focus more upon to get a good placement. Alumni meet does help us a lot.

Exam Structure

We have exams almost every month of the semester. So it's a bit tiring. The internal exams and assignments take a toll on our schedule and we do not get enough time for our personal interests and activities.

Faculty

4

Almost all the facilities have a doctorate degree in their field. Many of the teachers are quite good and really interactive with the students. Of course there are a few exceptions. Few teachers are very strict and their teaching technique is not up-to-the-mark. But otherwise, all the faculty tries to provide the students with required study techniques and teaching methods.
