What Students Say
Likes
- The thing I liked about My college is its atmosphere and vibe. You know Jaipur is such a great city and MNIT also has the same kind of atmosphere inside the campus.
- I also liked how I got so many good friends who taught me a lot of things and since it was my first time living in hostel, I was quite afraid in starting but all things went by smoothly.
- I also like how seniors are supportive here and tell us how and what we should know to get placed.
Dislikes
- The thing that I don't like much is that teachers are not quite good. Not all but most of the teachers just read the ppts and they don't care whether you are listening or not.
- I also don't like how they don't tell us how to do practicals properly. They just focus on completing practical file.
- I also don't like the thing that they really teach us about Programming.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty are professor are quite good (at least some of them). Most of the professor attend their classes regularly. But most of them only focus on front benchers. Although it is not their fault as one professor teaching 115 students is not easy. Lab faculty are also average. Due to COVID, our first and second sem completed in only 7.5 months. But now it has returned to normal.
Placement Experience
Mainly from 7 semester students can sit in the placements. A lot of companies visit in MNIT for every branch. As talking about my Chemical branch, there are PSUs , HPCL, BPCL and others. If you want to go in tech then you can also sit in there interviews regardless of your branch. The average package is around 6-7 LPA and highest is 35LPA. In the year 2022 Chemical branch had 100 percent placement. I also plan to get placed in PSU.
Fees and Financial Aid
For hostels, fee is same for everyone as they have to pay Rs.64000 yearly and additional Rs.15000 one time payment. For institute Fee, it is divided in 3 categories - a.General category people whose annual income is greater than 5LPA have to pay Rs.79300 for even semester and Rs.80065 for odd semester. b. For General category people having salary between 1LPA to 5LPA have to pay Rs.37634 for even semester and Rs.38399 for even semester. c. For other category and general category people whose family income is less than 1LPA have to pay Rs.16800 for even semester and Rs. 17565 for odd semester. They also provide different scholarships. As I am still in 2nd year I don't know much about Job opportunities.
Campus Life
We have an annual fest known as "Blitzchlag" which is conducted in starting of February for 3-4 days. We also have a technical fest known as "Spinhx" which is conducted in starting of November. We have a library where you can go and study( although I never went there). You can also borrow books. There are a lot of extra curricular activities which are conducted in our college as we have inter NIT sports, we have different seminars, alumni meet and celebrations on Independence day, republic day etc. We have many clubs and one has to be the part of alteast one club. They conduct various events throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
Well there are 11 hostel of boys and 3 hostel of girls . The best 2 hostel for boys are H-14 and H-9. As they have the capacity of 900 students each and they are built recently compared to other hostels which were built way before. They give you a room which has a table, chair, fan, window and almirah. You also have a LAN port in most of the hostel. Mess food is also good in almost all of the hostel(except H-14 recently). The best Hostel Mess is H-8 mess. You can register for hostel allocation on the website of MNIT and most of the students get hostel facility easily. I will personally suggest to take hostel instead of PG as you will remain in campus all the time, meet your friends and also it is cheaper than renting a room or PG.
Admission
I took the jee mains exam 2022 which was held in June and July. I got the final percentile around 98 and CRL 17000. Then josaa counseling process started in September. I got MNIT Chemical in first round and unfortunately it never went up. But I am still satisfied with my college and branch.
