College Review of GIET, BHUBANESWAR

I chose Mechanical Engineering because I liked the stream from before my +2 and the faculty: student ratio is approximately 1:6. The facilities were post graduates and some had completed their PHd. The exams were in exactly 6 months every year and hard to pass.

From 7th semester we were eligible for campus placement. Approximately 50 companies visited and all 90% offers were made and successful. The highest package was 500000 per annum and avarage was 200000 per annum. I didn't got into any company as I prepared for govt jobs after completing.

Fees was a little bit high considering other colleges but many students availed scholarships and it helped them with fees hike. Campus placement offers were not that much good as low salary or spend were offered.

Annual fest name was Suravi. Every year we enjoyed the fest. All books were available and also newspapers. All basic amenities were provided already. Sports and other events were happening every year between different streams and years. I don't remember the website name but it was named after Suravi.

Hostel facilities were not that much good. The hostel was lacking basic cleanliness and warden also not much disciplined. Mess food was bad quality. Registration for hostel was at starting with the admission process.

I appeared for OJEE and got admission through the exam in my College. You can find the application through OJEE official website and even on the notification page of BPUT. Improvement should be that they should complete the processes through online mode only.
