Course Curriculum Overview

I choose Mechanical branch as it is a core branch. It provide good placement for mechanical students. I college faculty student ration is good. Teaching method are very well. Faculty members are very supportive and help every student in their doubts. And about the exams.. There are two exam is a semester mid sem and the final end sem exam. Difficulty level of questions are medium.

There are hundred of companies offer internship opportunity to the student of nit jamshedpur. Companies like tata companies are available. They provide maximum students for their internship. Overall internship are good

The highest package attained by student this year was about 80-85lpa by 5 student. Average package is about 12lpa.About 97-98% of student get placement every year. The placement profile of the nit jamshedpur is very good.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it NIT jamshedpur a government base engineering college fees are not so high.It also provide fee remission to the general student. For sc and st candidate there is no tuition fee at all. College provide many scholarship for student like NSP.

There are many cultural and technical fest takes place throughout the year. Ojass and urja are major fest of the college. Library is well managed. There are so many extra corriculae activities within college like sports and also the cultural activities. Cultural group like beat breakers, rooh etc

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are decent. The meal are good. The registration process for the hostel is taken place with the admission process. Mess timing are followed very well. Hostel room for first year student have two beds per room. For second year student it is single bed room.

Hostel Fee: INR 15000 per year

Admission

Entrance is based on jee main result. Student clearing min. cut off can apply for the admission process.Selection is taken place in JOSAA. There are reservation for ST, SC and physically disabled candidates. Admission process is well managed.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
