Review for NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I choose this course particularly because of my interest in Electronics which eventually led me to choose the course. Faculty to student ratio is decent. The faculty especially the newly recruited one's are highly qualified from well respected institutions such as IISC,IITB,IITM. Now many faculty are being recruited new and mostly the old one's are being removed...which is leading to better teaching methodologies. 8 of the professors were among the top 2 percent of world scientists,an astounding feat. Term exams are notifed at the beginning of semesters and are not really challenging if you are regular and thorough in you studies.

Companies such as amazon, Microsoft,Atlassian tekion,adobe,intuit etc. Have offered internships. With wide variety of roles ranging from SDE and SWE.To product analyst have been offered. The seniors have don very good to get these internships.

For campus placements,students are eligible since the 3rd year. In 2023 around 250 companies had visited and around 600 offers were made. My branch of electrical Engineering has an avg package of 18 lpa and the highest offer in my branch as well as college is 83 lpa Overall college has a placement percentage of 98 percent and EE has 100 percent placements I too plan get placed after getting degree.

The fees hike is nominal like around 10 thousand per year in the tuition fees and it isnt too costly to study here. Since the Institution is funded by the central govt and Is recognised under Institutions of National Importance...considerable financial assistance is provided to the students. For SC/ST full tuition fee waiver is there..irrespective of the family income For GEN/OBC/EWS if the yearly income is less than 5 lakh per year then two third of the tuition fee shall be remitted. If the income is below 1lakh then full fee remission. Various other scholarship schemes by various other companies such as BPCL..JINDAL TATA are also there.

The annual fest is called as CULFEST and the technical fest is called as OJASS. They are conducted in the month of February. The technical fest OJASS is the second largest fest In east India. The library is a huge one equipped with all required facilities and availability of all books and journals. The classrooms are equipped with all modern technologies such as projectors,mic for the professors and air conditioned. All the sports and extra curricular activities are present here.

I reside in the HOSTEL I which is for 1st year male students. The room is double occupied with 2 almirahs,table to study and chair and fan with a tubelight and an optional LED slot. Mess food is decent enough. The hostel and mess is quite affordable and costs around 55k for a year. The registration was done on the day of admission itself for the hostel.

You need to give JEE MAINS and get the required percentile accordingly to your category. JEE mains can be given by 12th or 12th passed at maximum 2 years ago. I had availed OBC NCL category benefits. The cutoff is different for different categories and different branches.
