Full review - NIT Jamshedpur(Latest)

My keen interest in electronics and robotics made me choose the branch. NIT Jamshedpur has more than 150 faculty members from various educational fields. NIT Jamshedpur faculty members are PhD holders. Exams are conducted in every 3 months, mid sems followed by end sems.

Roles for internship opportunities - software development intern, data science intern, core internships for core branches. Projects depend on the role for which the company has taken the candidate. Some companies also give PPO based on internship performance.

Placements at NIT Jsr are much better than many of the new IITs. 3rd yr students are allowed for 2 month Summer internship opportunities while final yr students are allowed for Full time roles as well as 6 month internship during final semester. Placement % is more than 90% for almost every branch.

You can apply for various scholarships. You get good opportunities for internships and campus placements. Placements ratio is decent better than top NITs and some IITs. INR 83 LPA was offered in 2024.Placements are quite good at NIT Jamshedpur. In the last year, 100 percent of students were placed in my course in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The highest package was INR 83 LPA and the average package was INR 15.98 LPA. The top recruiters were MoneyView, Amazon, etc. About 95 percent of students got internships last year

Decent campus life. Good infrastructure. The techfest ojass is east India's largest technomanagenent fest. Culfest is the cultural fest. Inter branch sports fest Urja is also organized every year. Diff branches have their own branch fests also. Nexus is for ece, cognition for mechanical, vidhaan for civil, pravardhan for electrical and likewise. There are various technical teams like Phoenix, innoreva, drift, revanta, rays which participate in events both domestic and abroad. The classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with digital teaching boards with proper microphone and sound systems in every class.

Hostel facility has become optional from last few years. Earlier day scholar was not allowed but it has become a valid option for localities from past yrs. First yr boys get a double seater rooms but from 2nd yr onwards they get a single rooms with a small balcony in each. Girls however get 2/3 seater rooms throughout the 4 yrs. Mess is present inside the hostel premises. Food is average on the better side. 4 time meals are provided breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Snacks are not provided on Sundays.

The admission process of NITs is done through JEE Main counselling conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates shortlisted for the counselling process on the basis of merit list are required to register online in order to participate in the process.
