Remarks

One of the most beautiful campus of india, excellent weather and the beauty of north east packed in our very own IIT Guwahati.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT JEE and BITSAT. I got AIR 954 in IIT JEE advanced and 386/450 in BITSAT. I was getting Computer Science at BITS pilani and Computer Science at IIT Guwahati and Mechanical at IIT Kanpur. I prefered only computer science and Mechanical because of my interests.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is really challenging. The fierce competition here you work hard more and more.

Internships Opportunities

I got research internship in South Korea last summer in pattern recognition and this year many companies including Goldman Sachs , Microsoft, Samsung R&D bangalore, flipkart, amazon, inmobi, VISA came to the campus to recruit and almost every student of CSE has been selected for intern. This year i have been selected for Samsung R&D bangalore.

Top Recruiters are Dell, Flipkart, Google, HP, Goldman Sachs, Linkedin, Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow, Snapdeal, Thornton Tomasetti, Visa Inc. Samsung, Vodafone, WalmartPackage Offered Highest (International) $120,000 per annum, Highest (Domestic) Rs 30 lakh per annum Average, Rs 13 lakh per annum 92% on campus placement in CSE branch in IIT Guwahati.

Campus Life

Computer facilitie, All faculty and staff members of the institute are provided with a PC. All these computers are hooked on to the campus network. Most of the office work is automated with a view to improve efficency and reduce the use of papers. Internet and e-mail facility are provided through two leased lines. Both these facilities are provided to the faculty members, officers and students.

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Placement Experience:

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

From the seventh semester, one is eligible for Placements. This year(2024-25) 68 percent placement is done for B.Tech. Those who don't get placements either go for higher studies, UPSC, GATE, and some get job by referral from College Alumni.

An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement student are eligible from 7th sem and for internship whole 3rd year 5th to 6th sem. Highest package till now is 34 lpa i guess in intuit .and lowest 6lpa.I am totally focus into doing job rsther than doing higher studies .Iam placed at Deloitte and i am happy.till now 50 percent students of civil got plsced 80 percent Cse

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
