Remarks

Management is very strict. Attendance policy is of 85%. Any person found cheating gets an UFM. And backlogs in two subjects. Nirma is very easy to survive only if you do not mess with the rules or it is going to be very hard.

Entrance Preview

I gave Clat 2015, I scored 81.75 and a rank of 1792. I chose this college over other because of many reasons, firstly it was well established as compared to low tier nlus, secondly the location of this college is in a well developed city, thirdly the variety of courses that I wanted to study was available in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Each year is divided into two semesters, with 5-6 courses each semester. Courses are divided on the basis of credits. Each student has to earn the credits for those courses. The time table at the institute is well focused as it gives the importance to each subject as per their credits. Like constitution is 5 credit course so total 75 hours class and elements of management is a 3 credit course so 45 hours class.

Internships Opportunities

Each semester we have to do the internship. The campus recruitment cell also provides for internships and also the students are free to go for internships of there choice.

Placement Experience

3.5

Average packages range from 6-7 lacks pa. Law firm that are the top most in the country to newly incorporated law firms, both are our recruiters. Lowest packages are of about 3 lacks pa to highest of 15-16 lacks pa. Also judicial classes are offered in our institute so every year one or two of our students often cracks down judicial service examinations.

College Events

3.5

Connaissance, vibes, tangerine, scintilla, moot court, Hindi Divas etc are the main highlight events of our college. With participation from all over the country each event is a success in itself. Apart from these there qre severql other fests that are celebrated throughout the year and also each honours course have there own fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible enough as compared to other colleges. The current fees is 2.33 lacks pa which is justified if we look at the facilities offered by the college. However there’s no hostle facility. Also from second year onwards fees is paid semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

Both scholarships and loan facilities are offered by our college. Top 25 students in each batch are offered scholarships upto 50% based on their merits as well as merit cum means basis. Also for the needy ones loan facility is also offered to the students which they can pay after the completion of their education.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is equal. Various workshops are organised by the institute for students welfare. There’s no discrimination we observe based on any parameters. All are treated equally. College administration is very strict with respect to conduct and affairs of student activities. Anti ragging cell, woman harassment prevention cell are always active in the campus. But such things don’t block students enjoyment. They are given full freedom throughout the campus, only conditions is that they should know their limits. No shorts are allowed in college both for boys and girls till 6’o clock.

Hostel Facilities

3

Food prepared in college is very hygienic and only veg and also has the option of jain foods. There are 4 canteens in the entire campus of which the management canteen is biggest followed by law canteen and so on. Foods prepared are totally fresh and no leftover food is carried on. The monthly pass is of Rs 3800 which includes breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner and everything unlimited.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very strong. From taking the orals of moot teams to taking them in their own company or arranging internships, they are very helpful for the juniors. They can anytime reach the alumnis and ask for their help and they are always ready to help. Alumni’s network is spread throughout the world.

Exam Structure

Exam is based on continuous evaluation, which has 60% weight to internals and 40% to externals. Evaluation had power point presentation to writing papers to writing assignments and also sometimes making charts. End sem is of 100 marks and first fifty are checked by an internal and next 50 by an external examiner.

Admission

Admission was based on the clat rankings. I’d filled out the form for Nirma University. A merit list was then declared and out of which 180 candidates were shortlisted for the final admission. We reached the college for the orientation where we chose our streams i.e. BA.LLB or BCOM.LLB.

Faculty

3

Faculty of the college is quite diverse. It ranges from the freshly passed LLM’s to retired judges, civil servants and recognised academicians and lawyers. Also for special courses like for FRENCH course we had a teacher from FRANCE embassy and for the photography course we had a teacher from a photography school. So all the specialist are always there when it comes to imparting education

Placement Experience:

Our campus placements start from 4th year and like by the end of 5th year, most students are placed. Many corporate firms and with Gift City setting up most jobs were offered in the GIFT CITY. Even almost all the top law firms also have their branches in Ahmedabad and so that is where placements are done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the major reasons why I chose this course was that this was very unique , bsc in data science along with LLB is very new in the market, although it has it's own drawbacks, in the real world, there is not much demand for technocrat lawyers right now but with time this will increase. The major improvement would be the inclusion of other fields of law like IP, arbitration etc. There are three components for exams, one is mid sems which is held in the starting two months of the semester and after two months is the end sems. The semester are pretty short which is why we get time for internships and which provides us very nice exposure for real-world.

Placement Experience:

After 4th year, students are eligible to sit for placements. Some students also receive a pre-placement offer in the 4th year itself. The students are first prepared for day zero, i.e., placement day, beforehand by conducting a mock interview, which is a voluntary session conducted by the placement committee. CV Vetting workshops are also conducted in the eighth semester because at the end of the 8th semester, the placements are made where tier-1 companies like Khaitan, AZB Partners, CAM, SAM, Trilegal, etc. In-house firms like Adani, ICICI Bank, Tata, and more come for recruiting students. Some students sit for placement; others who want to prepare for government exams like judiciary, UPSC, Public Prosecutor, etc. refrain from sitting in placements.

In a law firm, there are no placements you have to get knowledge and then you can go to practice under any lawyer whichever you want and then you can do an internship in under of that lawyer. And you can stay in your own firm also. My plans for after passed out to practice under a very prestigious lawyer and get experience.
