I chose ECE at NITJamshedpur because it seems to offer a wide range of interesting subjects including electronic circuits, microprocessors, digital signal processing, analog communication, VLSI, embedded systems, instrumentation, and more. besides this, the department has well-qualified and experienced faculty who are actively involved in teaching and research. the ECE department has various technical, cultural, and social events and activities. The dedicated placement call at NIT Jamshedpur provides ample opportunities for students to land at leading companies and organizations. Moreover, the ECE department of NIT Jamshedpur has a strong alumni network who are working in reputed organizations across the globe.

the internship duration can vary from 2 weeks to six months. they are available in various fields suchs as engineering, science, management. Some internships may be paid while some may not be, depending on the funding and project specifics.

NIT Jamshedpur has a very good placement record with a dedicated training and placement cell that organizes various training programs and workshops. the institute attracts more than 250 recruiters from various sectors such as core engineering, IT, management, and consultancy. Some top recruiters include Atlassian, Tata Motors, Amazon, Adobe, KPMG, ICICI Bank, etc.

The tuition fee per semester is 105000 and the hostel and mess fee is 17000. tuition fee waiver is given to GEN-EWS, SC, ST, and PwD students. NIT Jamshedpur provides a 100% tuition fee waiver to students from SC, ST, and PwD categories. Various scholarships are available to these students.

the annual cultural fest of NIT Jamshedpur is Culfest, which is usually held in February/march. the annual sports fest is Urja, conducted in November. the annual technical fest is Ojass held in March/April. the library is well-equipped with books of various domains and genres. the classes are conducted inside the DJLHC, which is centrally air-conditioned and well-equipped to be taught in. Decent sports facilities are available on the campus including cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, athletics, badminton, etc.

there are spacious rooms in the girls' hostel. first year girls get three-seater rooms, which consist of 3 single beds, 3 tables, 3 chairs, and 4 almiras. geyser facility has been provided. the meal quality is decent enough with different varieties each day. there is no separate process for hostel availability as it is compulsory for first-year UG students.

To pursue a BTech degree we need to take jee main exam and meet the cutoff rank for our preferred branch and category. After that, we must participate in the JOSAA counselling process and select NIT Jamshedpur as our preferred institute. The JOSAA counseling is conducted in 6 rounds and seat allotment is done based on rank, category, and the availability of seats. The application form for JEE mains can be found on the official website of NTA. There is a 50% reservation for home-state candidates. Additionally, a tuition fee waiver is given to students from GEN-EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL PwD categories.
