Overview of SKCET

Basically course curriculum is the same as all other Anna University colleges. But the reason for choosing CSE course was to get good placement as we all know CSE students are more prioritized in the IT placements. About the faculty, all staffs are of average level but hold docrates and pg degrees. Exams were of moderate level and students can pass them if they study for it for 2 to 3 days itself.

Usually companies visit from 6th sem. From there on if you get placed you will get an opportunity for internship. Other wise only if you get touch with company's and get internship offer off campus then you will get to work with companies. It is our own efforts and work to create projects an our portfolio. The college will not spoon feed us and may/may not guide us in it.

In coimbatore our college is better when it comes to placement when compared to other colleges. Many companies do come and go to this college but to get placed is on one's own efforts. This college provides an opportunity for variety of companies. Usually companies start to come by 6th semester. Huge service companies are very few but many product and start ups visit our college. For our college tech giant that visited our campus was Accenture and L&T. Most of us also preferred for higher studies and opted out placements.

The fees structure is like other colleges. Government quota fee - 130000 Management quota fee - 160000 You may get a waiver off 25000 if you are a first graduate from your family and you will have to produce certificate for that. There are also other scholarships for SC/ST/OBC candidates which I do not know much. You will get campus placements from 6th semester and your work will begin from 7th semester were you will be paid from the company.

The campus is large and green. Campus life is good but about the extra curricular activities and culturals didn't happen to my batch as we were after covid. But it happens quite a few times in a year or two. There are few teams in our college for basket ball cricket and football

Hostel rooms are spacious and neat. They provide you free Wifi with 1gb per phone number. Hostel Food is good and it only veg. You can get bon veg from outside canteens. Hostel bathrooms are below average. Wardens are not that strict for the boys Hostel. Most of us moved out of hostel by 2nd year and everyone has to move out by 4th year as there is no accommodation for final year students.

I didn't take any entrance exam for this college. I only applied for TNEA counseling after the 12th board exam results were out. So there is no separate application form or process for this college. You will have to apply for TNEA counseling and it will release a list of candidates ordered based on their ranks. According to our ranks we will have a particular level of counseling. We need to add all our required colleges and courses based on our preferences and our allotment will be provided based on our cut off and the seat availability. The admission process was smooth and easy. But one has to be very clear and careful while applying for TNEA admission as it is not modifiable once applied. The other way of admission is the management qouto where you will have to provide lakhs and lakhs as per the management demands and get the seat. For the year 2020 the donation fees for CSE course was from 8 lakh to 12 lakh. of counseling
