What Students Say
Likes
- The college campus is decent with a lot of greenery which results to a good atmosphere
- The sports facility is good. I personally like playing badminton a lot for which there is a designated 3 court hall with proper matting and resting benches
- The quality food provided in the mess is decent but the taste is very monotonous hence most of the students prefer going out of the campus at the weekends for lunch
Dislikes
- Some of the faculty members are not good especially the physics faculty is ridiculous
- The college is very isolated so the students are very restricted to the campus itself. The nearest city is 30km away from the college campus
- Considering the provisions made by the college. The fees is a bit too high.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Tech in Computer Science because I have always been interested in computers and I have played dozens of computer games which always made me think about how they are actually made. The faculty members here are decent and the faculty: student ratio is around 1:40.
Internships Opportunities
The companies offering internships are Mahindra and Mahindra, testbook, HSBC, Infosys, HashedIn, Byjus, TCS, etc. These companies may also approve you as a full-time employee after a period of time has been completed as an intern.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements after the fourth semester. The companies that usually visit the campus every year are Infosys, amazon, textbooks, Goldman Sachs, etc. The no. of placement offers in the current year is 5-10 but the are more placement rounds left to happen. The highest package offered is 44 LPA whereas the average package lies between 4-5 LPA. Almost 80% of students get placed in campus placements. I am planning to start as a freelance web developer or join a developer agency after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for Computer Science is 126000 tuition fees and 80000 hostel fees per semester. There is only one opportunity of scholarship that too available only for the students of Madhya Pradesh. The college does not provide any kind of financial assistance to Btech students but the Ph.D. students are considered the part of faculty and allowed to lecture the students of Btech. I am currently a 2nd year student pursuing B.Tech so I have not yet got any internship or job.
Campus Life
The annual fest called D'Equinox is held every year in the month of March. The tech fest is organized in January. The library is very decent and has books from all genres and a very calm and peaceful environment to study. The lecture halls have either a centralized duct or ACs, A projector for teaching with the help of PPTs, and a blackboard for the traditional approach. The sports ground has a volleyball court, handball ground, football ground, cricket pitch, lawn tennis court, and a basketball court. The multipurpose hall serves as a badminton court and table tennis turf. There are some clubs like GDSC, CSI Technical Club, rospinot, JYC Youth Club, etc. run by students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms for boys are 3, sharing a bed, study table, chair, cupboard, and bookshelf for each, and a shared balcony. The quality of meals provided in the college mess is decent but the taste of food becomes very monotonous after some time. The registration for hostels is done at the time of academic registration itself and the hostel fee is 80000/semester. If you are looking for a PG or a rented room, the nearest locality is 3km away from the college campus and is not very developed so it is not a considerable option for most of the students.
Admission
The admission happens on the basis of a JEE score of 10+2 percent. The application forms can be found on the college website or on the campus itself. Reservation benefits can be availed only by the OBC/SC/ST or the financially weaker students from the state of Madhya Pradesh. I believe the admission criteria should be made stricter so that only the deserving students are admitted into the college. For the last two years, the students were even admitted at a score of 60 percentile in JEE.
