Likes

Placements in the college is good with good assistance of teachers.
Faculties are very helpful throughout the academic year.

Dislikes

Hostel is very average. Food is bad and frequent power cuts
Extra curricular activities are less compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is completely based on the VTU-approved syllabus which is 18 schemes (4th year) 21 schemes (3rd year i.e. my batch) and 22 schemes (1st and 2nd years). The faculty in this college are friendly and the teaching is good.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 90060 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

So the fee structure is based on the KCET-approved fees (this is about my fees). Management fees may be different for different branches. The scholarship will be given by the government. Financial assistance will be given by the college only. Placements are good in the college with an age of 5 lacs.

Campus Life

College fest will conducted on year in the name of Colosseum which is really organized well. Kavach was also conducted this year which is a national event. The library is great with every book available for ur needs. Classrooms are good and maintained well. Sports rooms are there for the activities. Clubs like Techtantra are there for socializing.

Admission

Admission takes place through kcet (Karnataka Common Entrance exam), COMED-K, and management seats. the process is very simple staff of the college are very helpful throughout the admission process.

A Brief Review of My College (New Horizon College of Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Experience at new horizon.

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester onwards students are eligible for the placement. Alots of companies like VISA,IBM,Accenture etc2 visited our college. The highest package recorded as of 2023 was from VISA offering 32.2 lakhs. 90 percent of the students get placed. After I get my degree I will work for awhile in the corporate world and starting up my own business on the side.

Placement Experience:

Many top MNC's come to the college. Recently the placement opportunities has increased when compared to our batchs.Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, SLK, Mphasis etc had given us the opportunity. The average package offer was 3.5lpa or 4lpa. The highest package known to me was 10lpa for a CS student not for us. The placements begins either at the end of 6th sem or in the beginning of 7th sem. Almost 60-70% of us were placed by the end of graduation but due to recession the onboarding was very late. Waited for more than a year to get onboarded.

The college placements are pretty good and provide an average of 6lpa for the students. There are lot of IT companies visit to oyr college but there are no opportunities for the courses other than IT related branches. Students become eligible after their 6th semester in the academics.
