- The seniors are also very supportive. You learn just as much from your seniors as much you learn from professors.
- The coding culture is really great. Everyone here strives to be a good coder here.
Dislikes
- We are given assignments almost every week and though students can learn a lot from them but sometimes you can start to feel under pressure.
- There are dogs on the campus and some people are scared of them and sometimes dogs barks unnecessarily.
- There is a minimum 85% attendance policy.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very latest and progressive, unlike most other engineering colleges that have age-old curriculums. The professors here are genuinely interested in teaching and most of them have PhDs and research experience in their respective fields. The facility-to-student ratio is also very high because of less and selective intake of students. Faculties have their fixed office hours in which students can approach them for any doubts and discussion. At the beginning of the semester, the university publishes an almanac which is the schedule of the whole semester and it is followed very strictly. So evaluations and exams always happen on time. The exams are a little bit difficult, you can't expect good marks only by studying one day before rather you have to study a little bit every day.
Internships Opportunities
Most of the big tech companies hire from the college for internships. I have interacted with a lot of seniors who got internships in Google, Microsoft, etc. They are paid very handsomely as well. You have good internship opportunities on campus.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 4th year onwards. Almost all tech companies visit the campus for placements like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc. The average package is 32 lacs and the highest domestic package is 70 lacs. The college has 100% placements. After getting the degree I want to do my own startup.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the institute are a little bit on the higher side as it is a privately funded institute. It's around 450000 (including hostel and mess) per year but every Penny Serpent is worth it. The kind of connections and the exposure the college provides are priceless. There is a scholarship for underprivileged students who have a family income of less than 8 lacs.
Campus Life
The student life is pretty chill. Sure there are assignments given every week and quizzes every month but it's very easy to create a balance between academics and fun. We have music, dance, and other cultural events which are organized almost every month by clubs in the college. If you want a quiet space to read or work then you can go to the library which has books on almost every topic. There is also a workspace where you can go and do group study. The classrooms are well-equipped with all the required teaching facilities. The college provides facilities and equipment for almost every major sport.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel here is very well equipped and well maintained. It's cleaned every day. There is a LAN port that is provided in every room but access to it is only allowed after 1st year. The mess here is really good. We have four different messes: North mess serves North Indian food. South mess serves South Indian food. Kadamb Mess serves nonveg food. Yuktahar mes serves food that is less oily and more on the healthier side. Hostel registration happens at the beginning of the semester and you can switch to any different mess at any time through the online mess portal.
Admission
The admission process happens in 2 stages. First stage is the written exam called UGEE which involves questions on math, chemistry, physics, and logical reasoning. These are very basic questions and if you are good at thinking logically then I would highly recommend giving this exam. Then the next stage is the interview round which happens online. I was asked 2 questions in my interview 1 on math and 1 on physics. They want to see how you think and judge you on that. So speak out your chain of thought in the interview and you are all set.
