Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because it has high scope and many opportunities in the future as everything is based on technology these days. The faculty-to-student ratio is not known but it's decent. The teachers are among the top 2% in the world.

Class Size: 118Course Fees: INR 122000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for a general student per year is roughly around 230000 per year but it can be reduced if the family income is below 5 lakh and reserved category students avail of fee waiver. Scholarships are available such as the medhaavi scholarship.

Campus Life

The Campus life is decent. The annual fests include URJA for sports in November OJASS technical fest in April and CULTFEST in March. Books are available in the library. Sports facilities are average But events happen often.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are decent sized and ventilated double seater for 1st-year boys and single seater from the second year. Geysers and water coolers are available. The facilities are being improved. The meal quality is average. The registration process for hostels happens along with the admission process.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

Admission is based on JEE MAINS rank. The application form can be found on the NTA website Application fees is around Rs 1000. The jee mains exams are expected to be held in the last week of january and mid of April.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
