Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to explore the field of medicines and drugs and my ultimate goal is to establish my own pharmaceutical company like big giants like Cipla, Torque, etc. The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:30. The faculties are well qualified and they have done their master's and PhD from reputed universities in India. The mid-term exams are held after 8 weeks of the semester start and end-semester exams are held at the end of the semester. If you study well then you can score good marks.
Placement Experience
Placements in our college are moderate around 70% of students get placed. We become eligible for placement at the start of our final year i.e. 7th semester. Companies like Ranbaxy, Cipla, Accenture, Axis Bank, and startups also come to our college for campus placements. The average package is around 5LPA and the highest being 12LPA. I plan to open my chemist shop and my ultimate goal is to establish a pharmaceutical company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fees are at par with other colleges in India. Financial aid is also provided as fee waivers from colleges for deserving students. There are various scholarship schemes by our college and also from the government which we can check through the National Scholarship Portal. Stipend-based jobs are not provided within the campus but one can do outside in pharmaceutical organisations.
Campus Life
Our techno cultural fest Parivartan is held every year around October and November. Renowned celebrities come to our college for the star nights, and cultural programmes are held. Also, events happen around the year and one can find various Punjabi celebrities in our college for their promotions. We have a central library which caters to the needs of the students. Classrooms are equipped with projector screens and multimedia but it lacks AC. We have facilities for almost every sport and our team also participates in the Khelo India University games. NSS, NCC, cultural clubs, and sports clubs are also part of student activities.
Admission
The course B.Pharma is eligible for those students who have done their class 12 with the science stream, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Math/Biology. I had done class 12 with Non-Medical Stream. Earlier I had been admission into D.Pharma at Rayat Bahra University and after that, I filled out the admission form through CGC's online portal then I visited the campus for further admission process. I had already done D.Pharma so I took entry through lateral entry into the B.Pharma course as a second-year student. The admission process is pretty simple and the staff is also very friendly.
