Course Curriculum Overview

I chose electrical engineering because of my interest in this field and also placement for this branch is amazing. The faculty members here are very good, academics here are outstanding.in between semesters which of 6 months there is mid sem exam and at the end there is end semester exam and cgpa is calculated on the basis of both marks' inclusion.

Internships Opportunities

I am a first-year student of the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur so I can't give you the exact scenario of an internship but after having talked with the senior they are saying that here internship process are amazing, and most of the students are getting internships.

Placement Experience

Students after 4th year are eligible for placement and in 3rd year they are eligible for internship. In my branch average package is 18 lakh and the highest pack was 83.4 lpa last year. In my branch, 100 percent of students were placed in reputed companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for 4 four-year general category is 8.5 lakh something, and if I talk about scholarships then I applied for the Medhavi Engineering scholarship program here which of 50 thousand for one year only. College fees are affordable.

Campus Life

The campus is in a large area, there is some annual fest like Diwali night and pajamas, and the library here is in a large area with enough amount of study materials and a place of peace where we can have our study.

Hostel Facilities

Facilities are enough light, a bed with a cupboard for one student. Talking about the mess it has a good sanitation system and pure food with variation in items of food. There are different for different days in a week. they provide food for 4 times a day.

Hostel Fee: INR 48000 per year

Admission

I cleared Jee's mains exam then I got admitted here. I don't think there was any problem in my admission process, so I think there is no need for that much improvement in this. To get admission here we have to clear jee Main cutoff then we can get admission here.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
