Course Curriculum Overview

I was very much interested in pursuing a multidisciplinary course like ECE so chose it at one of the old IITs. The faculty-student ratio is the same as that of any other older IIT. The faculty out here are well qualified and good at teaching concepts to students. Few faculties teach really well. Term exam quizzes keep happening from time to time. Overall IITs are known for their rigorous academic curriculum so you have to push harder to keep at par with the best minds.

Fees and Financial Aid

SBI has also provided financial assistance and many other organisations came up during admission to provide student-friendly loans for education so it's all cost effective and of course worth it. Campus placement interns are opportunities are immense and marvellous

Campus Life

Annual Fest Alcheringa is one of northeast India's largest cultural fest and so is techfest techniche. Students from different colleges and from all over India visit the campus to make it a memorable event. Sports extracurriculars and clubs are well developed here as well. The central library is the best place for studying and has all the amenities. Classrooms too are well maintained.

Admission

The admission process was very systematic and well-organized. It was done through the well-known JEE ADVANCE 2023 for the BTech courses. Application form fees and dates are found on their official webpage. The administration takes care of the admission process very well

Placement Experience:

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Placement Experience:

The placement of this university is not upto the mark. The highest package recieved by a student was 37 LPA. He was an ECE student. The average LPA is around 6-7 LPA. I think it's a bit low compared to NITs/IITs. But compared to other central and state universities its quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is btech and since it is an IIT the faculty are the best in their fields profs here have done PhD from Stanfords of the world and the prof-student ratio is very healthy. Although there are a lot of exams in the ballpark weekly one or the other exam will be there and the exams are very tough but grading is relative.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for internship placement in the 5th semester and for the full time, you're eligible for campus placement in the 7th semester. 223 offers were made for 22 pass out students. Some of the companies that visited our campus are Amazon Deloitte ZS Associates Tekion Mindtickle Gamescraft. The highest package was 61.5 lakhs and the average package was 15.34 lakhs. 95.12 per cent of students got placed. My plan after college is to work as a software developer.

A glimpse of IIT Guwahati

For admission in this course you have to clear IIT JAM exam and secure a good rank under 100 of you are a general candidate. You can easily find the application details on Google. There are reservation benifits to avail which you can check on the website. You have to qualify jee mains and sit in jee advanced exam where you first need to clear the cutoff and then apply for IITs in josaa counselling, then colleges roll out their opening and closing rank based on your category rank, if you rank lie between them, then you can take admission in that college. A worth-reading review, for sure

The admission into all IITs will be through JEE ADVANCED exam. I was able to clear JEE MAIN exam with a good rank of AIR 1082 . Thus I got eligible to sit in JEE ADVANCED and cleared it with a decent rank of AIR 5152. The application process and alotment will be through JOSAA portal. I applied for all the top IITs (only for CSE & MNC as per my interest) and I'm a female OBC candidate(OBC RANK: 1002). So I got alotted MNC in IIT GUWAHATI . The cutoff in our year is around 1200 in OBC female category. JOSAA counselling portal takes fees of 3000 only and we give our order of preference in IITs , NITs and IIITs as per our interest and we will be alotted a seat as per our rank....Read More
