Course Curriculum Overview

2

There is a lot of job opportunity in the food sector. Food engineers get a good salary and the job is always an office job not like a civil engineering field job. You can become a food inspector too. In m.tech here, students are very low in about 25 only, Including 5 different food branches. The faculty is not good enough. Student and faculty ratio is 2:1 to 3:1 Here many lecturers are seniors having more than 1 research. Some teachers do not hold a Dr. Title as they only have a master's degree. Teaching is quite bad here. Exams are always delayed from the expected/ scheduled time in the academic calendar. Exams are not hard to pass.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Fee concession is provided to poor students up to 40% from every state. Christians get an 80% concession for just being Christian. Fee scholarship is provided by the government. For UP students full refund will be provided by the government. For PhD, you get a stipend, and job assistance is so bad here. You have to find a job by yourself but you are the teacher's favourite then it's a plus point, the teacher will assist you and even refer you to a job

Campus Life

2

There's no such annual fest Tech Fest is always ongoing here The library has a thesis of students who pass out from here. Books are available for study mainly course-related books are available. Here you have badminton, basketball, cricket and kabaddi. Tournament held for all these games but the playground is not good. No websites that are run by students

Admission

Admission can be done with an entrance exam of the university itself, a link available on Shuat's official website. Direct admission is also there for most of the courses. Some seats are reserved for students who qualified ICAR exam or GATE exam. For general category, there is no reservation. Christian people are treated as VIP guests here and the fee for them is 80% off.

Meerut College, M.Sc Computer Science

Remarks:

Okay so I'm gonna give you a detailed description of my admission procedure. As I decided to pursue M.Sc Computer Science from my home town only, I needed to apply for admission by registering myself in the university i.e. Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Few days after registration, first merit was released and I was selected there and then. I got a call from my college i.e. Meerut College and I went for the admission. I was really skeptical about it in the first place because this college was renowned for its political culture and bad people driven environment especially for girls. But still I decided to go further. I still remember my first day in the college was on 10/08/2018. As I entered the college and went to my department, I was relieved to see that our department (Department of Professional Courses) was entirely separate from all other traditional departments. Since Meerut College is really ancient (estb.1892), it doesn't have the modern infrastructure and gives the feel of that really old colleges. But my department (as it's newly built) was somewhat better than the rest. Hereby I'll mention the pros and cons of my total experience of 2 years in the college. Pros: 1. Teachers are really qualified. 2. Regardless the strength of the class, classes were held regularly. 3. Entire course was completed by the teachers before the exams and also good notes were given. 4. Seniors were helpful in giving notes and previous year question papers. 5. Scholarships were given to almost every student who applied for it through UP Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme. Cons: 1. No extra curricular activities like games, annual events, freshers and farewell parties, etc. 2. No modern infrastructure like ACs, well-built washrooms, canteen, etc. 3. Out of the strength of 38, max 10 students came to college regularly. 4. No in-campus placements.
