Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was affiliated with VTU, so we had a standard syllabus with most of the colleges in Bangalore. The course included a lot of programming languages, but we weren't given much opportunity to select our electives. The teachers were excellent and explained the topics well. Each department has enough teachers to teach students of a class comfortably. Most of the teachers were Ph.D. holders or had completed their masters. There were term exams that were challenging but if you prepared well, there was nothing to worry about.
Internships Opportunities
The college did not provide any internship opportunities, but they told us where we could look for internships such as IISC, and some private organizations. But they did provide training in IOT, and Machine Learning which were very useful.
Placement Experience
Many companies came for campus placements, like Accenture, Wipro, Practo, and so on. We were also given opportunities to attend placement drives in other colleges for companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. Students have to do an internship before their 6th semester. The placements will start from the 7th semester till the 8th semester, but during our time, we had the COVID-19 pandemic, so the placement drives stopped during the 8th sem, The highest package was around 25 Lakhs. Around 50 percent of the students were placed. I got a job outside the college placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were nominal considering Bangalore engineering colleges. They provide discounts on the fees based on your CET ranks, your 12th marks, and based on caste as well. There were many companies like TCS, Wipro, Amazon, and Practo who came for campus interviews. There were also some placement drives that were conducted in the colleges, but we were informed about it.
Campus Life
The annual fest was VIbez, which used to be conducted around April - May of every year. There were many cultural activities that used to take place throughout the semester. There is a huge library, which is the best part of the college and you can read many different books. The classroom was spacious and ventilated. There weren't many sports activities in the colleges. There was a cultural team, dance team, music team, and book club.
Admission
I was eligible for a computer science course as my percentage was around 79% and my CET rank was around 50,000. So, during the admission, there was a discount on the fees for the students who scored more than 75%. From there on, the onboarding was smooth. You can find the admission form and fee details on Sambhram College's official website.
