The college management though good lack a bit into promotion of the college as they are associated with missionaries. The attitude and style as become a bit redundant over the period of time.

XAT with a score of 79 percentile. The reason why i chose this college as it is one of the pioneer colleges in the field of Rural management along with TISS and IRMA.

Course is a bit redundant owing it to the nature of course. The real learning comes from the field exposures and camps.

College internship is going to be either with a corporate or an NGO so mostly you land in a semi urban or rural patch. Well thats the beauty of it, You cant expect to be working from skyliners in the posh lights of urban working for something called as rural management. The general stipend can range from 10 k to 40 k depending on situations but you need not worry about organizations, its your will that matters.

Placement and job opportunities are OK considering the rank of the college on a national front. You need to remember that this is not software, finance or sales profile which will end you up into millions (in a later stage it is possible though). It is only beneficial if you like to mix with community and want to stay away from the concrete.

The college events are normal like the freshers and the farewell. You have a annual fest called Panache which includes all management and cultural activities and there is a participation from all colleges in ranchi like BIT, IIM, etc.

The fees structure is decent and at a lower level than many of the colleges. A roughly 60000 per trimester will give you 3.6 lakhs for teh course. A additional of around 50-60 k will be needed for miscellaneous expenses from time to time. So max of 4.5 lakhs. ST have special bonus being in a missionary school. Apart from reservation and concession in fees they also get special scholarship.

I didnt utilise it. But there is scholarship provision for ST and loan is available from banking partners from time to time.

Campus life for rural management is OK as most of the time is spent in some activity or the other. They are the ones who are seen least in the campus. Being a small campus you dont have must to do aprt from basketball or gym. Basketball competetion is the only time when the whole college comes to life for a sports competition.

Only girls hostel available now but boys have many options to stay nearby and i feel that is better in case of Ranchi as everyone has their own independence to style their needs.

You have a strong alumni network for this. Name any good NGO, or corporates for CSR, or other bodies like UN and you are bound to find an alumni of XISS over there. There is also and study tour of around 20 days where you meet alumnis working in various parts of the country and at the same time many also turn up into the alumni meet called reminiscenza.

Being theoretical in most of the aspects you will find you have moved back to your grads again and need to mug up all the answers. So you would have people going nuts before the exams. There is a trimester system so it means 6 exams in two years apart fro

The faculties of the college have been good and as associated with Xaviers it has got strong networking in the rural and most remote pockets.
