What Students Say
Likes
- Constant fun activities are conducted. Departmental activities, fests, sports activities and seminars are conducted throughout the year.
- Notes are provided for all the courses due to which there is less pressure for the exams. Early exam preperations in from of two mid semester tests make it more easier to cover up the syllabus.
Dislikes
- The placement is yet to be made better specially for the technical courses. More guidance must be provided for the placements and higher level aptitude classes must be held.
- More practically advance faculty must be there and practical approach must be used more than the theory and industry level extra courses must be conducted to give more clariry to the student before the placement.
Course Curriculum Overview
Mostly all the faculty members in the college are Post Graduates. There are also a few Ph.D. teachers. The teaching methods of teachers are good. All the subject notes are even provided, and classes are held regularly so there is not much pressure for the exams. Preparation of the syllabus is covered easily by the college due to which the final exams aren't much of a hassle if studied and attended classes properly.
Internships Opportunities
Mostly the companies that came to our college for the interviews were Flipkart, Wipro, Mobillite, Venue Monk, Ed Tech companies, and Jio. Currently, mostly non-technical placement companies are there but in more technical fields the placement cell is getting better every year. The placement staff is very helpful if you need any kind of individual guidance as well. They are always there to assist you with the resources required to fulfill your goals and even help you to undergo counseling before making career choices.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester onwards. The highest package has been up till now 12lac. Recently a student from Btech cse scored a package of 22lac for a company in Germany. The percentage of students getting placement is I guess about 60% to 70%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee policy is okay. They even provide you the facility to pay fees in installments before the semester starts. They do help children with financial issues but you need to be specific about it at the time of admission. Recently I applied for internships and was even selected in many with a stipend of around 10k to 15k per month. However, I feel fewer companies come to college for technical placements. But the graph is gradually increasing for the same. I hope that in the future the placement will get even better.
Campus Life
The main annual tech fest is held mostly in the month of October or November called "Srishti" and "Udaan". Apart from that many other events and fests are also happening almost every month. Every once a week department activities take place to include some fun and enjoyment on the campus which is in turn conducted by the students themselves. Sports events happen almost all the year which are fun and captivating as well.
Admission
For eligibility, you require marks greater than 60% in the non-med stream for BTech. I had a percentage in school higher than 85%, so that gave me some fee reduction benefits at that time. You can easily find the application form through the website of Global Group Of Institute, Amritsar, or can visit the office directly on working days i.e. Monday to Friday. I haven't availed reservation benefits though but I think amazing benefits in fee reduction are provided to them. I think the admission process is pretty much easier though more counseling sessions can be conducted beforehand for easy career clarification before entering any stream.
