Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choosed this college because of the events and programs they are conducting. I had completed my Under Graduation from Loyola college, Chennai which is near to MCC. While studying there, I had noted several events happening here. So I was so attracted here. There we have a total strength of 30 students and we have much faculties to including both teaching and non-teaching. Every teaching staffs in our department have completed their PhD in certain topics and have much number of publications in their name. One of our professor had done his Post Doc from Brazil. And he had shared us that he got achieved lakhs of money from Tamil nadu government to conduct a project research guided by him. We have 3 terminal examinations in which only best of the 2 will be considered for grading.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college provide many number of companies like TCS,HCL, TATA consultancy services,Cognizant technology, etc. amd several NGO's also will be aapproaching us with different fellowship programmes. For M.Sc final years we are supposed to submit research projects based on a specific topic.

Placement Experience

4.5

For both UG and PG students at the fnal year we can apply for placements. Several companies will be approaching the college and they will conduct the workshops and stalls. Upto my knowledge around an average of 400000 per annum is offered. As I'm in my first year I'm not well knowned about the companies that will be available. My plan is to clear NET exam and go for PhD. And go for teaching profession.

Fees and Financial Aid

For M.Sc in first I was supposed to pay 24,000 rupees as fees for one year. In second year also around 22,000 is the fee. Upto my knowledge the college is not providing any special scholarship or anything but they'll assisst for other governmental or non governmental scholarships. One of the thing I noticed is that the faculty members had cordially organised to create a scheme for poor students called MANNA SCHEME. In which those poor students who are not able to afford food, if we are aplpying with proper documents we can have a one time meal which can be breakfast or lunch from the college canteen.

Campus Life

5

The main function in the college is called Deepwoods. Also each departments are conducting their own department festivals as great function. Most of the departments conduct it as a 3 day prograam, first day for school students and rest for college students. Don't ever think that these events are jst simply conducting they are having a really enjoyable one there. For our department we have a special library and appointed by a librarian. Other than that we caan approach the central library also. Sports and several club activites are properly occured in campus as they will nurture the students thoughts and help them to develop their skills.

Admission

For admission there is no special entrance exam and all. It's criteria is mainly based on our UG mark. I had achieved a CGPA of 8.15 and I applied. I got a mail then that to confirm the admission I've to go to college for enrollment with all the original documents. The information regarding the college fee structure and the syllabus were taken from the college official website. Then for better information I asked the guidance iof a passed out senior I knew before. For getting admission there exist fo e reserved seats for ceratin group of people in several caste.

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.
