Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because the placements and average package offered are very good and also it has a great scope where the college is due to the presence of TATA STEEL company which recruits more number of candidates belonging from this course. The faculty-to-student ratio in my course is 5:33. The qualification of the faculty members is quite good as most of them are qualified for their M.TECH and PHD from different IITs, IISc and many of them have done research abroad. The teaching system is very good and the timetable is also set up in a very systematic manner. Both the use of projectors and blackboard make the concept of the chapters very easy to understand. There are two semesters in a year and in one semester two examinations are held which are mid-sem and end-sem. The difficulty level of the exams is easy to moderate if anyone has studied at least a few hours a day then he will be able to pass the exam easily.

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies offer stipends and internships based on the student's skills and capabilities. The companies which visit for internships provisions are Amazon, Yodlee, MAQ, Belzabar etc. The companies test a student on their thinking and aptitude test. The projects also impact a lot on the student's percentage of getting hired by a company.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements stats are very good in the college. The overall placement percentage of all the courses is about 97 per cent and higher this year. In the sixth semester, the students become eligible for internships and also for placements. The name of the companies that came this year were Amazon, Adobe, Bajaj, BYjus, OLA, Samsung, Qualcomm, Tata Steel, JIO etc. The number of offers made this year was 750+ and about 250+ companies visited. The highest package this year was 83 lpa and the average package is 16 lpa. The percentage of students placed was 100 per cent in 4 branches and about 97 per cent in the rest branches. My plan is to first get a good job with a good package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study for a general category student is about 10 lakh which is the total amount paid in 4 years. The fee hike policy of the institute is simple and it does not charge much for everything but provides everything without any problem. A student can avail of up to 1 scholarship. For state students, there is an E-KALYAN scholarship which is a government-funded scholarship. Apart from this, there is the MADHAVI scholarship and many more. If the student's financial condition is not so good then he can get a fee remission from the college. For OBC candidates if the income is below 1 lakh then he can get full fee remission (no tuition fees), if the OBC student has an income between 1-5 lakh then they can get 2/3 fee remission, if the student belongs to SC or ST then no tuition fees have to be paid, if the student is from GEN-EWS then he can also get fee remission. The job can get a student a good amount of stipend based on his or her skills.

Campus Life

4

The life inside the campus is very good and there is almost no restriction. The annual fest is called the CULFEST which is held in the month of April while the tech fest is OJASS which is held in March. The library consists of full of different kinds of books and novels. Any student can just borrow books for a certain time period with the help of their library card. The classroom has both black and white boards along with the projectors. It contains a centralised AC system which is a relief for students in the summer season. Besides the AC system, there are a number of fans fitted along the walls in the classroom. There is also a provision for the mic on the professor's desk so that the sound could be heard by the students sitting on the last benches. Almost every sport is played and every sport has its own club which students can take part in like football, cricket, volleyball etc. There are a number of clubs in which students can take part in the first year like Quinite, Faces, and technical clubs.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The facilities provided in the room are a bed, an almirah, a table, port for lan connection, light, fan. The meal quality is average in the mess and the menu is different for different days. The menu is very good but the meal quality needs to be improved a little. The registration process of hostel is done on the same day of student registration which is MIS Form filling. The hostel fees taken is around 30000 and along with the mess fees which is 18000, so a total of 48000 needs to be paid during hostel registration.

Admission

Firstly to take admission to the college, a student has to qualify for JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION which is held all over INDIA. For eligibility for appearing in this exam, a student has to first secure 75 per cent in his or her 12th grade or Boards. The application form is released by the official board which conducts the exam which is called NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY(NTA). It releases the participation form on its official website which is nta.nic.in. The cost of the application form for boys is 1000 and for girls is 800. NTA generally releases the form around the months of November and December. The exam is conducted two times in a year once in January and the other in April. There is a fixed amount of seats reserved for the GEN-EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PWD. For GEN-EWS 10%, OBC-27%, SC-15%, ST-7.5% and Pwd-5%. There is also the benefit of home state quota in which almost 50 per cent of the seats are reserved for students belonging to the same state

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
