A great learning experience

Our university is one of the best universities in India and it provides an excellent opportunity to study as well as gives a platform to showcase inner talents. My overall campus experience is very good.I would rate it 8 out of 10.

A entrance exam is conducted by KIIT UNIVERSITY every year in the month of April-May which is known as KIITEE. No one can get admission in KiiT university without appearing in this exam. The exam is free for everyone. The notification of this entrance comes around December every year.During the counseling seats are given according to the ranks and the preference of the students. But if you want you can apply for changing stream once the counseling process is over.

I had chosen mechanical engineering. The faculties are good and knowledgeable. There are various labs to encourage practical learning and the equipments in the labs are upgraded in every 2-3 years to comply with the latest technologies. Other than the core subjects from 4th semester onwards we can choose various electives like industrial engineering, engineering economics and other electives based on our interest. You can always take part in research initiatives whenever you feel like.There are various projects going on through out the year to represent our university in various national and international level competitions.

Companies like TVS n Tata motors conduct internship drives every year and selected candidates are given 1-2 months of internship in their plants.

Around 95% students get placed every year. Core placements are very few. Most placements are given in IT companies like Cognizant,Accenture,Infosys,Wipro,Tech Mahindra etc. Microsoft, Deloitte are also among the top recruiters. Average package is 3.5 lakh per annum for most of the companies. But the companies like Microsoft n Deloitte give package of 6-7 lakhs per annum.

There are numerous events going on through out the year. Every stream celebrates its own cultural festival during December and the university festival known as KIIT fest happens in February.The average footfall is around 10-15 thousands.

The fees are on a higher side. The academic fees for 1 semester is 1.5 lakhs now and it changes in every 2-3 years. Other than this you have to pay additional 2 thousands during every semester for semester registration and exam registration.

If you secure top 3 ranks in KIITEE then the university will pay you 20 thousands every semester for the next 4 years. You can avail loans from any nationalised bank. But the college authorities recommend Allahabad Bank and they help to get loan from the bank.

There are various committees for extracurricular activities like dancing, singing, acting and you can join those after 1st year.

The hostel fees and mess charges are around 1.5 lakhs per year. It has air conditioned hostel facility also which costs upto 2-2.5 lakhs per annum. Generally the rooms are double sharing but if you want you can apply for single room with extra fees. Honestly the food quality is not very good. Nonveg is served 3 days a week.

Alumnae are very friendly and they help everyone who contact them for any help.

There are two midsems other than the two semester exams every year. Midsem exams are conducted in the middle of every semester and around 60% syllabus was covered for this exam. Every semester you have to perform experiments in 3-4 different labs and the final exam of each lab is conducted 2 weeks before the final exams of that semester.

80% of the faculty have degrees from IITs and NITs. most of the faculties are friendly and clear all our doubts.Half of the faculties have an experience of minimum 5 years.The standard of teaching is great.
