Remarks

In over-all the college is strict. Will not get the freedom when compared to Govt. Colleges. Teaching is overall good and will get good notes especially for exams. These notes are the most helpful thing in the college. The college has a bad canteen which has no variety in food. The overall experience was good only since i got a superb gang of friends.

Entrance Preview

Inorder to get into the college its required to appear in the kerala engineering entrance exam. The admission is based on the rank list. The admission can also be obtained by management seats. In that case also the individual must qualify the entrance exam. There is also one more way to get into the college using NRI seat. In that case entrance exam is not required. I have entered the college through management seat allocation. There is a small interview with the principal of the college in the presence of parents. I studied electrical and electronics engineering(EEE) in the college. I choose this course due to the scope of getting jobs and also because it is one of the core engineering course from years.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course was good. Basically electrical and electronics engineering is considered as one of the toughest courses in engineering. There was also practical labs for deeper learning in each semester. Regarding research initiative, the course is followed with a mini project and main Project which requires lots of research and studies. The college also promotes new ideas. Technical fest and paper presentation are encouraged. Elective subjects are a choice during the coure of 4 years. I have selected renewable energy sources as my elective subject. It covers a lot of information regarding the renewable energy sources around us.

Internships Opportunities

College does not provide internship but helps in getting internships. During the course of B.Tech internship must be completed by an individual. Students themselves must find suitable companies that provide internship according to their courses. The individual must complete minimum of 10 days of industrial training. Stipend is not given in normal ways. There are companies which provide stipend.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has a placement cell that arranges placement for the final year students. The placement cell also conducts training programs which helps the students to get placed. Major recruitment companies that visits college are Infosys/TCS,Sutherland. Banks may or may not come. The banks which come are Federal bank, South indian bank. The students also gets a chance to attend off campus placements thereby it gets a chance to attend placement for many companies(UST global, ibs, Elgi, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever, Amazon etc. An average of 50℅ of students gets placed in an year. The average package is around 3-4 lakhs(CTC).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is as follows during my course time, Caution deposit: 1 lakh (gets refunded after the completion of course) Tuition fees : Rs.75000 for 1 year Exam fees+other fees: below Rs.5000 It was not much affordable. Tuition fee was same for every individual.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarship. A particular amount is kept every year for providing scholarships. I personally didn't get any scholarship. College doesn't helps in getting loan. The individual himself needs to find the educational loans provided by different banks.

Campus Life

4

College promotes extracurricular activities. College has teams for basketball, cricket, football etc and this team attends competition held by other colleges. College management also supports individuals in paper presentation, quiz competitions and other technical activities organised by reputed organizations.

Hostel Facilities

2

I was a day scholar. About the hostel, they were sharing based. Food was provided within the hostel. The food anyway sucks. The fees was also not so cheap. There are PGs available around the college. Many used PGs rather than college hostel. Hostel does not provide single rooms. The hostel is also so strict that a individual is treated like a kindergarten student.

Alumni/Alumna

College provides a good alumni relationship. A separate unit is operating in the college for alumni. Alumni meetings are organised by the college every year and every pass out student is invited for the same.

Exam Structure

Exams are so frequent. During 1 semester(6 months) there will be 2 class tests,2 series exams and the university exams. There will be 1 model and 1 university lab exam. In some semester's the test papers and series exams can go up to 3 in a row. The exam culture is so boring.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty staff were minimum M.Tech qualified, and also professor's with PHD qualifications were there. Every faculty is not much experienced, but some of them are good in teaching and have knowledge about the subject. Interactions with students depends on the faculty staff. Cant generalize whole faculty, but some are up to the mark. Teaching standards are good, sufficient notes are given which is very effective for exams. Teaching beyond the syllabus is missing and for deeper knowledge the individual needs to do research by himself. There is a good library which can be helpful in that case.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placements are really good. Since college is related to ISRO maximum students with cgpa above than 7 are elligible for ISRO interviews and are selected based on their performance. Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
