Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for Electronics and Communication Engineering has been revised over the years to enhance it as per the current demand of the industry. Academically, the institute is decent. However, there's a scope for improvement in terms of practical experience. More industry-oriented learning is required to be promoted apart from the basic subjects. If the preparations are good, exams are usually of medium level and one can pass them without facing much difficulty.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for the placements in the final year. The average package is usually 3-4LPA. It is mostly the IT firms or non-tech companies that visit the campus for placements. I got an offer from Infosys but instead, I opted to go further for a master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is good and the bare minimum and scholarship opportunities are there. As far as placements are concerned, they are mostly IT related with an average package of 4LPA. No core companies visit the campus.
Campus Life
Since the college is not fully residential and is situated quite far from the main city, there aren't many facilities around. The classrooms are decent and the library has limited stock. It is open only during the college hours. There's usually an annual National Conference NCEEITET to present research work. Then there are festival celebrations and occasionally technical fests.
Hostel Facilities
Since the campus is not fully residential, the accommodation at the hostel is limited. There is no accommodation facility for girls and limited for boys, having an approximate intake of 300 while the college strength is 1200. Food quality is usually not up to the mark and there aren't many options outside the campus either.
Admission
Admission was through the JKCET test. The test requires one to be a resident of the state. The application form is available on the JKBOPEE website. Once the results are out, counseling is conducted, and depending on the availability, the branch is allowed.
