Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I was interested in the commerce stream. The overall number of students enrolled on this course is about 1100. The faculty is good but some professors need to be replaced due to incapability in teaching the subject. Semester exams were not conducted in a gap of 6 months and few syllabi were incomplete. It was quite a difficult question paper.
Internships Opportunities
The students after graduating, are sent for internships based on their overall performance in the college; curriculum as well as non-curriculum. The overall highest package and average package offered during placements 2023 stood at INR 1.2 crore per annum and INR 23.13 LPA, respectively. Apart from this, a total of 308 companies participated during placements in 2023. The top recruiters of BHU in 2023 were Graviton Research Capital, Rakuten, Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees differ for the students of BHU main campus and students of affiliated colleges. The fees, per year, for the students of the main campus are1900 (regular seat) and 25000 (paid seat). The fees of affiliated colleges vary from 10000 to 22000 per year (regular seat) and 25000 to 45000 per year for students taking admission under paid seat category.
Campus Life
Life on campus is literally so good. There are many clubs formed by our seniors, which we can easily join just by informing them. The clubs and societies are generally educational and social. Educational clubs hold seminars on various topics and social clubs give us ground-level information. The Library at Banaras Hindu University is the largest Library in Asia with all the proper amenities and lakhs of books. The atmosphere in the classroom is the most suited for proper education. The university sports board give the sportspersons to represent even at the national level. One of the very famous social groups under the faculty of commerce is The ComSoc, BHU
Admission
The eligibility for taking the entrance test was 12th pass out students with a minimum mark of 50%. The application form was available on the official website of BHU and NTA and was available from 14th August 2021 to the mid of September. The fees were 600 per application form. I was admitted to the college by means of the Banaras Hindu University Entrance Test (BHUET) conducted by NTA all over the country. I was admitted through the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in the affiliated college (Arya Mahila Post Graduate College) of BHU under the B.com (Hons) programme. Overall the admission process was good but it had been delayed and caused confusion among so many other aspirants.
