Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I aspired to get admitted to this college, and Civil Engineering has been one of the main Engineering subjects for a while. The faculty: Student ratio is roughly 1:80 for classes and 1:30 for Labs. The faculty here are highly qualified in their respective domains. The teaching method varies from professor to professor, but overall it's very good. The exams are held four times a year, or twice a semester.
Internships Opportunities
Almost all the major companies visit the college to give on-campus opportunities, and the off-campus opportunities are also good. The process includes technical knowledge rounds and interviews. The companies offer a wide range of roles.
Placement Experience
They manage to get a placement till their last semester. Almost all the big companies visit our college to give placement to the students, and most of the students sitting in the placements get placed. The highest package offered is somewhere around 2 crores and the average package should be 22 lacs. I am planning on getting a good placement after getting my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite high, but they are for the ones who can afford it. Many scholarships are provided based on merit, the income range of the family. The fees vary depending on your income range. So one can afford it according to their financial state.
Campus Life
The college hosts many activities and fests for its students. The annual fest is Kashiyatra held in January and the annual tech fest is known as Technex. The college also hosts Spardha, the annual sports fest held in September-October. The spacious library has many books and journals that you'll need. Classrooms are equipped with proper ventilation and fans.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms provided are not very big, but one can reside there as a student. We have a study table, almirah, and fan in the room. The quality of mess food is good and depends on hostel to hostel. The menu is decided by the mess staff and has a lot of variety. In my opinion, the hostels are highly affordable, and the registration process is simple. overall, the verdict for the hostels is good.
Admission
All the Indian Institutes of Technology accept admission through a joint entrance examination, so you have to clear that to get into IIT BHU. To be eligible for the course, you have to get the required marks and clear the required cut-off in the exam. If you are from the general category, you have to be among the top 8000 students in the JEE advanced exam. The examination also has reservation benefits if you are from OBC(NCL), SC, or ST category. If you're from the PWD category then also you get reservations. The application process is very simple and I'm satisfied with it.
