I choose the course of B.Tech in electronics and communication at NIT Jamshedpur for its huge placements which is even higher than many computer science placements of many NIT and IITs. the faculty: student ratio is not up to the mark, you should not be completely dependent on faculty for your study.

Class Size: 115Course Fees: INR 180000 per year

Internships Opportunities

the official internship start in 3rd year all the main company like TATA, AMAZON, ADOBE, QUALLCOM, etc comes and take a student for summer and winter internship. there is two coding round for the IT company and one HR round.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fee structure is just like other IITs and NIts for general students the total fee would be approx 8-9 lakhs to complete their B.Tech. there is a complete off in tuition fees for students who have an annual income of less than 1lakh.

Campus Life

the annual fest is CULFEST which is very huge and It is generally conducted in the month of Feb. the library is also up to the mark with wi-fi but it is not opened for 24 hrs. the best thing is its classroom equipped with all modern technology to teach.

Admission

admission to this college is done on the basis of rank in JEE-MAIN. for ECE branch cutoff is 10k to 13k air in jee main. there are 10% girls reservations and 50% reservations for home state students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
