Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is well detailed and structured, various subjects and areas are covered in the syllabus so each student will find something they like and want to study, and the modules for each subject both core and electives are well thought out. The faculty is nice and supportive and approachable. There are two exams each semester- mid-term and final exams. However during online and due to the pandemic for me from 1 to 4th semester only final exams were conducted, there were many challenges online, both net issues and subjects not covered to their full potential and exams were a bit challenging due to net issues.

Internships Opportunities

4

I do not know much about this as I didn't apply for any, but by seeing my batchmates there always seems to be an interview and assignment or test given with a certain time period to finish it. Most who applied have gotten in or it has helped them to get in elsewhere too.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are there and are generally offered in the last semesters, and lots of well-known companies offer internships and recruitment, there are fair requirements to be eligible like attendance and no backlogs, and also the company interviews and tests if there are. And students can also freely approach and ask faculty for help finding specific opportunities if needed, and there is plenty of guidance from faculty and professors as well. I myself visited an animation studio along with other students on a workshop, and it is very insightful. I've seen many batchmates get placements and internships. I haven't asked or applied to any.

Fees and Financial Aid

For me, the fees were fairly costly but I found it fairly fair given the syllabus given my family's financial situation, but I felt more things could've been done to justify the cost. Scholarships are available and offered in all semesters except the first one in various categories to which the student can apply. However I found it sorely disappointing and a bit stressful because the result list is not posted at all, or not on all the websites and there is no response either, even if you are eligible and make it into the list, you will not know as they don't inform you themselves. From personal experience, I've had to run constantly after them for any response and help but at least you get the refund even if it's late. I myself got 40% freeship in tuition fees in the second semester under compassionate grounds and full merit in tuition fees in my 5th semester. I hope they improve and post the results on all campus websites and inform the students who made it on the list to apply for a refund.

Campus Life

4

Unfortunately due to most of the course being online, I have not been able to experience it to the fullest but my experience has been fairly good and exciting. There was construction going on for most of my remaining term when we did go offline so it made the experience less fun. there are many events that are great to see and participate in, and there is an annual cultural fest and sports fest along with other small ones throughout the year, lots of useful seminars and workshops, the classes are great with all necessary machines and gear for students to work on. There is a well-stocked library too to access, the canteen is good although it wasn't in good shape due to construction the food is great for the prices offered. There are clubs to students can join but I wish they were more active.

Admission

The eligibility is the same as in any private institution or college. The application forms and fees and all the necessary information are on the same website for the campus. There are reservation benefits. And there is an entrance exam which is in two parts- the aptitude test which tests your creativity skills. I had 2 written questions and 2 drawings one and then the other part is the interview which takes place after the test.

The placement according to our seniors are decent, not awesome. The average is around 3-3.5Lpa . Yes there are some students that are exceptional and get 10+Lpa package but you need to be 1 in a 100 thousand for that.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are average. The maximum package was 50 lacs recently. A few companies that visit for placement are Amazon, Flipkart, MTX, Adobe, Cisco, Accenture, Airtel, etc. The average package can be 5 lacs. Amity also provides foreign exchange summer programs every year during summer break. The placement rate is high enough to 70%. My plans after graduation are to do post-graduation in animation in European countries.
