What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the ambience that they provide, all the greenery and well maintained beauty of the campus. There is no partiality done at any level. Everyone is treated equal and there is no fear of ragging as it is very safe for freshers.
- I like the fact that in such affordable fees we are getting to gain knowledge and use the resources here.
- I liked the teachers here as they not only try to make the students comfortable but they also guide them in every possible way.
Dislikes
- There is no social life and students only have enough time to take lectures and rush back home exhausted which is not what we want for our college life.
- They make us work in the fields for the first year under the name of NSS though we get a certificate in the end but it is quite unattractive.
- There is no canteen and no mobile phones are allowed on campus which is a bit non sensible to me as students of our age need it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I want to attain higher education in political science and this was one of the best choices to study in DEI. The faculty members here are very experienced and helpful provided you are a sincere student. The curriculum they follow throughout the course is quite overlapping with any and most of the entrance exams like UPSC, UGN NET, etc. They follow a Daily Home Assignment (DHA) and Class Assignment (CA) based evaluations which are helpful for low-performing students. You will have three exams in one semester and all of them are sure to pass if you have studied well through the semester. There is a library which helps you with it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The per-semester fees are very nominal and affordable. Students with financial problems can also fill out the scholarship form and according to their relative situations, they do receive government assistance financially. There is no on-campus job as far as my knowledge goes and the PhD scholars receive stipends based on their project work.
Campus Life
They only celebrate independence day and republic day and do not give holidays for most of the significant festivals. The library here is good, there are limited books available based on the curriculum. Classrooms to be honest are not the most attractive feature as they are mostly old-fashioned. DEI surely focuses on inter and intra-faculty competitions which include art as well as sports. There are no social groups or clubs although there are several Instagram pages made by students for helping each other which is a very good quality of students here.
Admission
Every detail related to the new admissions is available on the website of the college easily found on Google by typing DEI, Agra. Application forms for admission need to be filled before the deadline which varies for various courses. Once the application is filled candidate will receive an application number which is very important throughout the process. There will be a written test MCQ type and then after passing it, there shall be an interview in which general knowledge questions are asked. After you clear the interview there is a list which is released on the college website showcasing the names of the qualified candidates. If you qualify you will receive an email shortly confirming your selection. Then you will have to pay the fees and get enrolled and the freshmen year mostly starts from 1st of July every year. This was my admission process but as per the new guidelines, DEI now takes admissions based on CUET and then personal interviews. The admission process is very good and non-biased.
