Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My branch is engineering and computational mechanics as this was the first time this branch is included in the Institute and it contains AI & ML and core mechanical courses so it will have high demand in the coming times. The faculty: student ratio is 1:15 in the Institute and it's quite good. all the faculty are quite experienced and helpful too. All the faculty are very highly qualified some of them are from the well Recognise international universities and some have Ph.D. from IITs and other Institutes. Their teaching is also quite good and they are helpful also. As our session started late so we were having 4 month Semester due to which the time was less and the syllabus doesn't have any change in it so exams were occurring every two months (mid-sem and end-sem) and the difficulty of exams was moderate to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities are the same as the placement lots of student gets internship here and also get PPO after a successful internship period. Some students are offered a stipend of lakhs. Student work according to their domains and get an internship in their respective domain and fields.

Placement Experience

5

Our college in terms of placement lies among the top 5 NIT in India it's the overall average package is 1600000 PA and it has the highest of 85 LPA. different branch has different placement and the thing to notice is the core placement of the college. mechanical metallurgy has almost 100% placement and all other core and lower branches such as electrical production civic have placement of around 95%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of the Institute is 107000 per semester. But if you belong to SC/ST/PWD category then you get a full tuition fee waiver and general and OBC students can also avail of financial aid. If the family income is less than 100000 PA then you get a 100% tuition fee waiver and if the family income is less the 500000 then you get 2/3rd of the tuition fee as a waiver you have to pay only 1/3rd. As per I know there is no scholarship for general students but they can avail of some scholarships from outside (government or private).

Campus Life

4.5

The annual cultural fest is CULFEST and is organised every year and the Tech fest is OJJAS. These fests are some of the biggest fests of eastern India and lots of students from various institutes participate in them. The library in the college is quite big and students of every year can use them very easily as lots of books are available and there is hardly any shortage of books. our classroom is new and well-maintained it has smart classroom amenities and the benches are also very comfortable with proper AC in every lecture Hall. Sports facilities are very good on the campus. various sports facilities are there like cricket, football, hockey, volleyball, Table tennis, cricket, badminton, basketball, and many more every student gets the opportunity to get enroll in the team and participate in various events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

As the new hostels are getting ready in the college so the hostel facility is improving regularly. The hostel alloted to the first year is old and sometimes has a shortage of water and bathroom cleaning problems. The mess in the Institute is good and for non-veg eaters, they get 4-5 times non-veg in a week, and vegetarians are substituted with panner. The registration process for a hostel is very easy and the cost is also not very much high one can easily afford it. The locality outside the main gate is good and have lots of general stores and restaurant but another side we have Basti and the people around there is not good.

Admission

The eligibility to get admission in the institutions is must have completed 12th with PCM as the main subject and have scored a minimum required rank in jee mains which varies for each branch. The application form for jee mains is available on the NTA's website and after the declaration of the result, you will be told to participate in JOSSA counseling which provides you seats in the different NIT, IIT, GFTI, IIIT according to the scores rank in jee main and advance. The fee for jee main examination is 675 and for counseling, you have to give a minimum amount of 1000, and the seat acceptance fees and all others are told by JOSSA. Yes, the reservation is there in the Institute. You will get a seat at a lower rank if you belong to reserve categories. The admission process is good but it can have some improvement in the registration process at the Institute.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.
