Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because it was related to mechanical engineering and had aspects of an MBA which is my future aim. Also, I wasn't getting any better branch than civil in this college. The faculty-student ratio is good. Some professors are highly qualified from top IITs and NITs but a few of them teach by book. For me, it was a short semester because our course started late. and every 4 months we had an end-semester exam.

Class Size: 61Course Fees: INR 212000 per year

Placement Experience

From 3rd year you are allowed for campus placements. Nvidia, Atlassian, Flipkart and Qualcomm companies visit here. around 200 companies visit the campus. The highest package went 83 LPA by Atlassian here. The average package is 14 LPA and branch's average package is 11.3 LPA for production and industrial engineering. Around 98% of students get placed every year. I plan to do MBA after this course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is 9.6 lakhs for 4-year Btech Programme. You are allowed to take a fee remission of 2/3rd of tuition fees if your family income is less than 5 lakhs per annum. and full tuition fee remission if your family income is less than 1 lakh per annum. Cutting the costs you will need to pay only around 5lakhs with 2/3rd fee remission.

Campus Life

Culfest is the cultural fest conducted in may Ojass is the techno-management fest here conducted in December. Urja is the sports fest conducted in October. The library has sufficient books for academics . Classrooms have AC and a projector. We have coding, technical and cultural clubs like Qunite and Pcon here.

Admission

I got into this college by JEE MAINS EXAMINATION. The eligibility was to pass the 12th exam at that time. I found the application form online. The application fee was 600 INR. THE date for application was at January 2022. The admission process was lengthy but quite organised. I am satisfied with the admission process.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
