What one may need is all it gives!

I chose a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering because I am very interested in the field of the iron and steel industry. Since NIT Jamshedpur is located in Jamshedpur which is also home to Tata Steel and various Industries present which gives ample opportunities to students. the college has sufficient well-qualified faculty with each faculty being a PhD, Post Graduate or a Graduate from most reputed colleges like IITs, NITs, IISc, etc. There is teaching method is very student-friendly. Mid Semester and End Semester Exams take place in every 2 months. Exams are moderate in difficulty.

The campus offers lots of internship opportunities. All big companies visit the campus for interns. Some of them are Atlassian, Texas Instruments, Amazon, Tata Steel, Tata Steel Long Products, Tekion, Google, Twitter, etc.

From the 7th Semester onwards the Placements begin. The average placement percentage of the institute is 97% with an average package of ? 15 Lakhs. Being located in the Industrial Region of Jamshedpur, there are lots of Employment opportunities for the students.

Fees for 4 years is? 8.65 Lakh. Financially Weak students can avail of free remission provided by Institute. Many scholarships are provided to NITians by State Government and PSUs. Stipend is provided to students who got internships from the Campus

Culfest is the Cultural Fest and Ojass is the Techno-Management Fest of NIT Jamshedpur conducted in February and April respectively. A sufficient number of books of various genres and course books are present in the library. Air Conditioned Classrooms are provided. Lots of Sports and Extra Curricular Activities happen on Campus. Literary and Debating Society, QuNITe (Quizzing Club), Beat Breakers, Rooh, Team Phoenix, Drift Racing Team, Daksh, etc are some of the best clubs and teams of NIT Jamshedpur. These have brought various laurels for the institute.

All the basic needs are provided in the Hostels. 24-hour water and electricity are provided. Geysers for warm water and proper toilets for Physically Handicapped students are also available. Proper Security is provided with strict Curfew timings. Mess food is decent and is provided regularly on time.

The admission process of NIT Jamshedpur is done through JoSAA Counseling. To be eligible for JoSAA Counseling, one must have a valid JEE Main Score. JEE Main Score is accepted for all the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main is an annual exam for engineering aspirants which is conducted twice in January and April. In June the JoSAA Counseling for IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs begin. If one belongs to some Reservation Category like General-EWS, OBC, SC, or ST then the cutoffs will decrease for the candidates belonging to the category with respect to Open Category (General) students since Reserved Seats are present in all the courses.
