What Students Say
Likes
- I like the sports infrastructure and the vast ground provided. Many diffrent courts are constructed like tennis court, volleyball, handball etc.
- I like the greenery of the college and the way they maintain all these plants and trees
- I like the smartboards provided in some of the classes
Dislikes
- They don't provide the equipment and things to play any kinds of sports. These are only provided to hostel students
- The food prices in the canteen are above the prices which are decided by the college and the university
- The teaching methods of the teachers are not that effective. Some just come and read the books and some just scroll the pdf's
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I want to go ahead in the teaching line. There are many teachers in the college but there are a lot of students too. There are so many students that if all the students collectively one day come into the college then it wouldn't be able to accommodate all the students. Classes sometimes feel overcrowded. So I would say that the teacher-to-student ratio is 1:130 There is 1 teacher for approx 130 students The faculties are highly qualified and have deep knowledge of their subjects But I am not sure about their teaching methods Few teachers are good but other teachers just come into the class, speak from the book or scroll a pdf and go. They don't care if somebody understands or not. If someone points these things out then they say that ' you don't pay attention in the class, it's not the teacher's mistake' Term exams are taken once in the mid-semester and it's easy to pass in those
Fees and Financial Aid
I have studied for only one year yet so don't quite know about the fee hike policy yet. The cost to study if you also include the residential charges (if not staying in the hostel) would be around 1 to 1.5 lakhs per year. If you stay in the hostel then it would somewhere be around 70-80 thousand I didn't get any scholarship or financial assistance from the college
Campus Life
The annual fest is simply called the annual fest and it doesn't have any special name. There is no tech fest. The annual fest is conducted around January or February. All kinds of books and journals are available in the library. There is no issue regarding this. Amenities are good in some classrooms and not good in others. Smartbords are there in many classes and benches are also OK. But there are electricity cuts. Some benches are broken. Windows are sometimes broken etc. There are lots of sports activities possible on the campus because they provide a huge ground with many games possible. They also conduct a sports meeting once a year. One thing is not good i.e they don't provide things like balls or other equipment, you have to bring your own. There are WhatsApp groups and Instagram pages run by parties of the college
Admission
Eligibility of the course was that the student must have done his/her 12th from non-medical. The cutoff for the general was around 90 percent. The application form, fees and application dates can be found on the website www.dhe.chd.gov.in I didn't avail any kind of reservation According to me, the admission process is good and smooth so I don't want to see any improvements in it.
