Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to be at both sides of engineering i.e hardware and software. So I chose this electronics and computer engineering. Faculty student ratio is about 1:70. Faculties are good . They have good educational background and are mostly supportive. Although there are some exceptions. Engineering= exams, exams are held at every 1.5 months, and it's not too difficult to pass. Just a night preparation would pass you. Although for good grades, you need to work hard.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies like Tata, Deloitte, Mahindra, and Infosys offered internships in VIT. Internships are decent paying and you get a good opportunity overall to come to the real world of technology and explore it in your way.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester, if you have required skill sets you can go for internships and placements. There are more than 600 companies that include Tata, Mahindra, Google, Deloitte and many more. Highest package was of 1.2 crores and average package is 8 -9 lakhs. I don't have the exact statistical data but yaa more than 70% students get placed. I am looking for a high pay job after getting the degree
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are based on your rank and branch. Although if you have a good amount of money, you can take a good branch by paying higher fees which they name as a category. I got my branch in category 1 which is the lowest fee that I had to pay.
Campus Life
Vibrance is the annual fest conducted in February and TechnoVIT is the tech fest conducted in October. There are plenty of books in almost all categories. I don't know much about journals Chennai is super hot. But I feel good in classes due to good ventilation. Sports facilities are not so good because they are more emphasized in studies. But there are sports events that interested students do participate in to boost their talents. There are many clubs and websites as such. Some are fraternities of young innovators, vitfam etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are a total of 3 types of rooms-2 bedded- that is best if you are a private person and don't wanna interact much. Then 3 bed- which is quite small and then 4 bed- which is spacy and has good ventilation. Overall food is good and the menu keeps updating every month. Rooms are a bit expensive but it's in the outer areas so I guess it's worth it. The registration process is a bit hectic.
Admission
I gave VITEEE exam and got a decent rank. Application forms are available in the official website of VIT three to four months priorer to the exam. There is no such caste reservation. There is a category based system for fees structure and branch.
Other Applied Colleges
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology - [IIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Aerospace Engineering)
