I had to go through the counselling process and select a college based on our score. Velammal college of engineering and technology was my preference because in madurai it's very hard to find an institute with best qualified staff and education. Vcet is affiliated to Anna university chennai and they follow anna university syllabus, only if our cut off score is more than 185 we could enter this College. I selected computer science & engineering because I preferred a IT sector job.

The course curriculum was anna university chennai syllabus. We had both practical class and theory classes everything was balanced, the course structure was so easy that we could relate the practical classes with the therapy. We also had qualified and best experienced faculty to make our learning process much easier. In the final year we had electives to select and for that we always have our staff as our support to help us and guide us in the right path. We also had project in the final semester so we could learn and also implement them.

No to my knowledge in my engineering batch there was no one to for any internship programs ,MBA and ME students got opportunities for internship programs. We present papers and projects in other college and get rewards. My college was very encouraging in presenting papers and projects, if we won my college also gave us rewards on college day function.

My college and the faculty members were all so encouraging that they were with us throughout the preparation and helped us. They shared their experiences and guided us. They trained us as per the IT requirements. They gave us so many options for our careers and gave us so many practice papers for us to crack the interviews. Placements in my batch was very good around 92% placed highest salary package offered would be 12 lakhs per annum and average would be 6 lakhs per annum I guess. The management team arranged a lot of companies to visit the campus so that the maximum number of students would get placed companies looks TCS, Wipro, aricent, Accenture , Deloitte, oracle and Lots more. For engineers roles offered was project engineer or software engineer.

Every year we have college annual day and all talented minds and rank holders were awarded. Velammal college of engineering and technology is they always encourage us in extra curricular activities. Every year each every department organise a symposium where every student will be given a responsibility and we can invite other college students to participate and win prizes. We can also participate in other college symposium and if we win we would be awarded again in our college day function.We also have sports day and they also give training in the fields we are talented. We had National Nuclear Festival were we exhibited projects and best projects were awarded.

The fees structure was feasible we can see all class of students from rich to very poor. My batch was 2008-2012 and for a year including books,notebooks,textbooks,Bus fees and exam fees it was Rs.62000. Some students opted for no transport option too so it would be rs.50000 for them. They don’t charge anything extra

To my knowledge there’s no scholarship and loan facilities were availed by a lot of students I haven’t tried any of them and I have no idea.

Campus life was pleasant. Gender ratio differs greatly based on every branch and for computer science & engineering it was 3:1 and for mechanical engineering it was 1:3. Sports and all extra curricular was given atmost importance. College sports day was celebrated and inter college competition was also there volley ball , tennis, base ball and badminton was all trained for those who are talented. Faculty were also very enthusiastic and encouraging.

Quality of food was also good. Separate hostel building for girls and boys with comfortable rooms. My friends who boarded there were all comfortable and felt good. There was no infrastructure issues faced. Cleanliness and hygiene is assured in Velammal college of engineering and technology. In hostel time is allotted for watching tv. Boarding fees was also very feasible somewhere around 20000 per annum.

Yes every year we have a alumni meet and they are helpful. We get to know a lot from our seniors about their corporate experiences.

The infrastructure was fully equipped and good with spacious and equipped labs & library. For engineering we have semester exams twice every academic year and we have practice tests and based on those our internal marks would be given so we should maintain consistent record. Practical exams also the same we have practice papers and internal marks. Attending daily classes , taking notes and doing the practicals is more than enough to excel. University exams are also very easy to crack if we follow a routine.Faculty will be there always to guide us.

My admission in Velammal college of engineering and technology was so simple first of all we should select the college during our counselling and the management was so easy to finish off with the admissions. For management seats the process was quite different. We paid the fees and bus fees based on anna university chennai. The management was very friendly and guided us.

The management team takes a lot of effort to provide the best faculty for us with high qualifications and corporate experience. They were all very knowledgeable they helped us throughout in getting good grades . Maximum faculty have corporate experience so they helped us in our placements too.
