About VCET
Velammal College of Engineering and Technology (VCET) was established 2007 and it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is a self-financing non-minority institution. It is founded by Shri. M. V. Muthuramalingam, a Professional Engineer and the Chairman of the Velammal Educational Trust, Chennai. The College has excelled at providing a high-quality, affordable education to students of diverse backgrounds, many of them children of immigrants, working-class students and others seeking access to an outstanding private institution. The College campus is classical, high-style buildings to be constructed on 26 acres. The College is approved by NAAC.

Extracurricular Activities
- Eco Club: The main objectives of the club is to utilize eco-friendly energy sources, to maintain green campus and clean classrooms, making paper less communication and to manage solid wastes
- Robotics Club: It is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and knowledge
- Application Development Club
Library
- The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, atlases, etc.
- It also has a Digital Library which provides online access to the e-resource of the Digital Library portals of IEEE, ASME, ASCE, etc.
- The library also supports the reprography section
Hostel
The College has separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel can accommodate 600 boys and 300 girls. Two students stay in one room. Single room accommodation is given to the final years and PG Students.

Actually this is my dream college, i applied through counselling quota I got seat in this college. After getting seat in this college I was very happy. I didn't try any other college because this is the only college which is near my home that's why I choose this

If the applicant had above 60% in JEE and other national competitive exams, admission is provided with scholarship. Mechanical, civil,eee courses are offered easily with the cut off of above 120 and management quota has no donation.For ece,cse,aids,It courses the admission cut off is 175 and management quota with donation of over 3.5lakhs. Application form can be find in the official vcet website.Exams are conducted quite frequently with a moderate difficulty

- Good and friendly staffs, attitude towards students was very descent
- Very experienced staffs hence teaching was very understandable

- Not a very good college atmosphere. Students feel it like a school.
- Good to improve English communication within the premises and also between students and staffs

Firstly I got into this college through Anna University counselling that happened in Chennai and as I received merit marks I got it easily as per the cutoff and category. As I went through counselling the admission process was effortless. Once I received the certificate from counseling about the college I opted for I directly visited the college reception and queried about the date and timelines for the feedback payment, fee structure,books collection, department etc. As I was not first graduate there was no scholarship for me. They have scholarships according to parents income level and it is very good. Exam patterns are near and descent. As the admission went smooth for me there are no areas of improvement recommended.

- the campus is quite small where we could not explore our college life
- canteen is quite not good because too many foods are not available

eligiblity of the course is 18 years you can find the application form in the college website and they have given an detailed explanation about the application dates and fees. improvement is not needed as they are doing their job fantastically through which students have a great future

- I like the way of teaching of the faculty, the faculty will encourage the student ideas

- The fees payment process is slow and it has to be improved
- The hostel food is somewhat good and it has to be improved more

There is no entrance exam for Andhra Pradesh students and there will be an entrance exam for Tamil Nadu students for this course. We can get application forms from the administration office and there is no fees for application form, students have to submit the application forms within the dates issued. The fee payment process is slow it has to be improved

The eligibility is to have a minimum of 60 per cent in the 12th examination. Application details can be enquired through phone calls or else can be checked through the official website. No Improvement is needed to date.

The admission process in my college was easily comfortable for the students. Application fees were 5000 and there is no entrance exam. based on the cutoff marks students get a scholarship provided by the college for up to 2 lakhs

I applied for the TNEA counselling process. My cut off for the same is 182.75. My category was BCM. I opted for Velammal College (ECE/CSE/IT) and PSNA college (ECE). Then when the seat allotment was out I got the first priority that I applied for which is VCET-ECE. The admission process in college was smooth. The minimum cut off for govt quota was around 175 for this department but the minimum cut off varies based on our category. SC/ST category has a much lesser cut off compared to others. I'm very happy to have been selected for the same college I wanted to do my course for.

Our college students had got placed in many fields at top companies.our college provides 100% placement guarantee.We have top trained facilities who helps us to acquire more knowledge in many fields.our college also provides many extra curricular activities and sports
Admission:
I have applied for admissions in Thiagarajar College of Engineering(TCE) and Velammal College of Engineering and Technology(VCET) through the management quota. I hoped for a Computer Science course in TCE. But I got a call from that college for an available seat in the IT department, in the management quota. During that time, I applied for counselling. I got placed in CSE, VCET through counselling. Unfortunately, I didn't get a computer science course in TCE. Yet, I had a place for IT in TCE, in the management quota. Being interested in computer science, I went with VCET.
